Moving to dismantle former President Barack Obamas legacy on the environment and other issues, House Republicans approved a measure Wednesday that scuttles a regulation aimed at preventing coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams.
Lawmakers also voted to rescind a separate rule requiring companies to disclose payments made to foreign governments relating to mining and drilling.
Republicans said the votes were first in a series of actions to reverse years of what they see as excessive government regulation during Obamas presidency. Rules on fracking, guns and federal contracting also are in the cross-hairs as the GOP moves to void a host of regulations finalized during Obamas last months in office.

Not fast enough. Please quicken pace. We can keep up.
They are getting a lot of mileage out of saying they are going to do something but never seem to actually DO SOMETHING!!
Slow and steady wins the race.
.
What happened to the provision that was mentioned a few days ago that would allow to suspend every regulation imposed for the last 8 years that is already in place? Well?
So what is this regulation about dumping coal debris into streams? Perhaps this could be one regulation, or in some other form, that should be adhered to.
Does anyone believe that this is what the regulation stated? "Please dump all coal mining debris into the nearby streams. We want to make sure we pollute them." Or is the writer bringing their slant to new regulations through his/her liberal lense.
Maybe you should research what they are classifying as “coal debris”.
We need to dismantle all of them ASAP.
They are using that provision. It’s called the CRA and it will let them go back years to remove rules, but each rule has to have separate vote.
If they do it right, they could set one day a week aside just for CRA and get rid of 10 or so a week.
This is the gov’t. Nothing is quick.
Trump would never allow this.
And dats duh name of dat tune.
Perhaps you could enlighten me and anyone else who may read this thread. I’m not a liberal. I don’t suffer from intellectual hubris and I welcome learning new facts and welcome debate.
“Its called the CRA”
Yes, that is the one. Thank you. I didn’t know you had to apply it to one at a time thanks again for the clarification.
