Always in His Care
February 1, 2017
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Psalm 32:8
On the day our youngest daughter was flying from Munich to Barcelona, I visited my favorite flight tracking website to follow her progress. After I entered her flight number, my computer screen showed that her flight had crossed Austria and was skirting the northern part of Italy. From there the plane would fly over the Mediterranean, south of the French Riviera toward Spain, and was scheduled to arrive on time. It seemed that the only thing I didnt know was what the flight attendants were serving for lunch!
Why did I care about my daughters location and circumstances? Because I love her. I care about who she is, what shes doing, and where shes going in life.
In Psalm 32, David celebrated the marvel of Gods forgiveness, guidance, and concern for us. Unlike a human father, God knows every detail of our lives and the deepest needs of our hearts. The Lords promise to us is, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you (v. 8).
Whatever our circumstances today, we can rely on Gods presence and care because the Lords unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him (v. 10).
Dear Father in heaven, thank You for watching over me in love and guiding me along Your path today.
We are never out of Gods sight and His loving care.
Psalm 32 is an interesting look into the covenant relationship the believer has with the living God. King David, the writer of this psalm, is aware of his own personal sins and the need for confession and forgiveness. This spiritual connection with the living God is not simply a positive experience but includes Gods chastisement that leads to confession and restoration (vv. 45). Yet even within the ups and downs of our walk of faith, we have the assurance of Gods watchful care and provision.

You Are Walmart |
You like to pinch pennies when you grocery shop, and you're proud of how far you can stretch your dollar. You are a no frills shopper, and you are good at getting what you need without breaking the bank.
You simply don't think it's worth it to shop at a gourmet store to pay double the price for the same food. You are more likely to eat to live than to live to eat. That being said, you eat better than most of your friends - for a fraction of the price. |
Actually, I've never shopped for groceries there.

You Are Trader Joes |
You consider grocery shopping an adventure. You like to go out there and see what you can find. You are definitely a foodie, but you keep to a budget. You want as many of the finer things as you can afford.
You have a taste for the exotic and novel. You love a new twist on an old favorite. And while you aren't a health nut, you prefer to go the more natural route. You love to eat well while still making healthy choices. |
Hmmm, now let's see.....I grew up working in my dad's grocery store and now I love to be in the kitchen cooking. I am not surprised by the answer! ;-)

Amazingly accurate. I am a Trader Joe’s kinda shopper.
Not necessarily coincidentally, I live a block from Trader Joe’s and am there all the time.

Apparently I am a “trader joe’s” though it is too far for me to drive to. I thought I would be a Safeway/A&P/Giants/Wegmans/Von’s/Furr’s/Smiths/HyVee/MarketBasket/SuperSaver/Stop&Shop/HEB kind of guy.

Costco. Sort of true but the nearest Costco is 25 minutes away so it is for big store trips.

In our area, we have Wal-Mart and Safeway. I shop at Wal-Mart for staples, paper products, canned goods, cosmetics, personal items, and pet supplies. Then I head to Safeway to shop the perimeter of the store. That’s where the dairy products, produce, meat/seafood, lunch meat, etc. are found. Seldom go into the aisles.

Dude!
Didn’t see you as a Trader Joe’s type! The only time I was in one was in California. Too hippy-like for me. LOL!

I think I've actually shopped in a WalMart three times in the last 20 years.
And never for groceries.
Now the regional chain Weis, different store, different story.
