Seemingly following the proposals of Bill Clinton (and Ron Paul), The Washington Post reports that a leaked document shows the Trump administration is planning to crackdown on current, and would-be, immigrants who are likely to require public assistance.

The Washington Post reports that The Trump administration is considering a plan to weed out would-be immigrants who are likely to require public assistance, as well as to deport — when possible — immigrants already living in the United States who depend on taxpayer help, according to a draft executive order obtained by The Washington Post.

While Trump’s immigration ban last week focused on national security and preventing terrorism, the new draft orders would be focused on Trump’s campaign promises to protect American workers and to create jobs, immediately restricting the flow of immigrants and temporary laborers into the U.S. workforce.

WaPo goes on to note that the administration would be seeking to “deny admission to any alien who is likely to become a public charge” and develop standards for “determining” whether an immigrant can be deported after five years if that person receives a certain amount of public assistance, including Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Medicaid.

Don’t assume “leaks” are always real leaks. Sometimes stuff is “leaked” to the press with authorization of the administration, perhaps to float a trial balloon, or to influence the media narrative, etc.
I thought you had to work at least 16 or 20 quarters to be eligible for SS

one healthy man in his 60s was interviewed and he happily boasted in Spanish that he had just arrived that week and already he was signed up for SS and he hadn’t had to work one day to receive the money..

I think that may only apply to refugees, not all immigrants but I could be wrong. That’s why Castro always sent the elderly here, they could sign up as refugees.

To say we are a nation of immigrants is a Statement by the left to brainwash the weak minded.
The correct statement is, “We are a nation of LEGAL IMMIGRANTS”. Many on the left and Rinos in Congress try to cheat people into believing the first statement is true, which makes me believe they faked their law school resume since they do not understand that the prefix “il” as in ILLEGAL means “not” legal! Only an idiot in Congress can try to pretend to have a law degree and not know what the word “illegal” means.
And by the way, why are we calling these people “the LEFT”; call them what they are; “COMMUNISTS”!

Also let’s not forget the racket that universities run. At a big ten school in PA, foreign students not only got free tuition but housing assistance and welfare including food stamps; while the white people from Appalachia got the job of scrubbing their toilets.

Every ‘leaked’ document is now suspect, especially if the source is unnamed or anonymous.
Trump can’t do anything about DACA until Sessions is confirmed. I’ve told you this before.

I know about a woman who allowed her work visa to expire while in Belgium, despite repeated reminders from employer to renew.
Meanwhile, she dropped an anchor baby, forgot to marry baby daddy, then daddy died in an accident, all within a few weeks.
In many of these countries, once your visa expires, you can’t just go to the immigration and say, oops, I’m a little late but I’m here to renew it now.
You go to the office late, you’re turning yourself in for deportation. So too late means lay low.
She was warned repeatedly, but thought they were just kidding, like in the US. Surely they wouldn’t deport a nursing mother who was a grieving widow! Her baby was a citizen! She’d deal with it eventually!
Immigration came and got her within a few days of visa expiration, gave her 20 minutes to pack, escorted her onto the plane.
The infant was not allowed to accompany her. It was a citizen, as were the grandparents who were handed the child on the spot by immigration police, without further formality.
Mom was sent home to the US and told she’d need an international lawyer to petition for custody, and it would take years and millions of dollars, by which time the child would be grown.
Furthermore, since she’d already violated their immigration laws, she was barred from re-entry, so any future trips to visit with her child did not look good.
She never saw her child again. She later realized the grandparents had likely turned her in, because they didn’t want to support her.
Sounds cruel, but this situation would need to happen here only a few times, and word would get around.
