Never one to refrain from speaking out on political issues, Starbucks (SBUX) CEO Howard Schultz took to his soap box on Sunday evening and fired back at the Trump administration following its controversial immigration ban.
"I write to you today with deep concern, a heavy heart and a resolute promise," Schultz said in a new blog post, adding, "We are living in an unprecedented time, one in which we are witness to the conscience of our country, and the promise of the American Dream, being called into question."
Housed in Schultz's missive were a host of interesting nuggets. Schultz said Starbucks is developing plans to hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years across the 75 countries globally where it does business. Starbucks will begin its hiring focus in the U.S. -- sending a clear message to Trump -- via those people who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel in various countries where U.S. forces have sought support.
.....
People quickly took to TheStreet's Facebook page to voice their opinion on Schultz's comments, with some calling for a boycott.
Byron Fairchild How about hiring 10,000 Americans at home first!!!😡 Glad I only buy at Big B coffee.

Why would I boycott a store whose coffee is truly gag-worthy and which I refuse to patronize. Oh, wait, I guess I’m boycotting, but just for the wrong reasons.
So, Mr. Starbux, you do believe that thousands of people are entering from those six countries. Thank you for verifying Mr. Trump’s reasoning.
Good for you!
“I write to you today with deep concern, a heavy heart and a resolute promise,” ...
The drama queenery is strong in this one.
Same here.
Just think of the $$$$ you are going to save.
I told my mother there was pig fat in Starbucks frappuccinos in an attempt to curb her addiction.
Starbucks is convenient, lots of locations, and I love their peppermint mochas. Don’t love them enough to stoop to supporting this humptwit.
Agreed - their regular blend smells like ashtray and tastes even worse.
Thumbs up to you :)
He just put every store under Trump’s magnifying glass. They better watch out. You DO NOT want to piss of this president. God, he’s great. #MAGA
Find a little independent coffee stand - lots of those around who would be grateful for the business.
Schultz did not “stand up to Trump”. He told 10,000 American citizens they were not welcome as his employees.
Quotas favor one side and disfavor another.
Starbucks disfavors Americans.
I’d boycott them, but I don’t buy from them in the first place.
Why would executives managing publicly held, for profit corporations get themselves needlessly involved in political disputes and P.O. 50% of their potential customer base?
Idiots!
I myself have never purchased anything from Starbucks ... well, maybe once, by dim memory. Anyway, never saw the attraction. Give me Instant.
just make the $5 cups of coffee, dumbass, and be glad that americans are either wealthy enough or gullible enough to buy it.
no one gives a damn about your misguided social conscience.
what makes coffee boy think he possesses the moral superiority to preach to the rest of us?
just make the coffee, and be glad there are people dumb enough to pay $5 for it.
