Mayor Andy Ginther countered President Donald Trump's executive order with one of his own.
The mayor said Columbus will be a welcoming place for immigrants and refugees and city resources won't be used to enforce immigration laws.
The executive order comes just days after Trump banned immigrants from seven majority-Muslim nations. That ban led to large protests over the weekend at John Glenn International Airport.
About 50 protesters demonstrated outside City Hall Monday evening calling on Columbus to designate itself a "sanctuary city". Ginther's executive order stops short of that but the protesters said they supported the steps he took.

Someone needs to remind the Mayor, that Columbus is not an independent “City State.” As Ohio’s capital, it certainly has some duty to our State, our heritage, and our strong support for Donald Trump. This is outrageous. The Mayor needs to understand that his office is not a personal play pen.
For later.

There is no “immigration ban” to be countered. Fake news headline from “ABC 6 on your side.”
Their oaths of office say otherwise. They are in violation of their oaths.
Wrong.
Big difference between a refugee and an immigrant.
Is the Ohio? They already are loaded with Muzzies that area.
Most likely.
North Columbus is bad enough that regular schools like Brookhaven have been converted to “global academies”. Even the regular schools have been instilled to accept the globalist way.
161 and Karl/Cleveland used to be a somewhat good, if dated neighborhood in the 1980s-1990s. Now it’s split between a good amount of holdouts and a ton of ethnic shops of various Third World countries.
If it gets much worse, I’d have more trust in South Columbus.
