Katie Rich, a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” has been suspended from her position at that show following a widely criticized post she made Friday on her personal Twitter account in which she mocked Barron Trump, the 10-year-old son of President Donald J. Trump.
She was suspended immediately after her tweet, and her suspension is indefinite, according to someone familiar with the plans at “S.N.L.,” who was not authorized by NBC to comment on personnel matters.
That tweet on Friday, during Mr. Trump’s inauguration ceremony, drew widespread condemnation, and Ms. Rich subsequently deleted the post and deactivated her Twitter account. Her name did not appear in the closing credits of “Saturday Night Live” in its broadcast on Saturday.

I tried watching the weekend update on Saturday night.
It was vile. The anti-Trump vent was over the top. They called on a “guest”, a Black (commedian?) whose name I do not know.
She sat there for minutes ranting. None of it was even remotely funny. I tried to think of it from the Left’s perspective too, and the writing/delivery was beyond bush league. It was terrible.
I miss the days when the show was cutting edge.
This was just terrible.
Paid vacation, big deal.
She should be fired and forced to apologize to Trump.
Trump has addressed this. His way, quietly and behind the scenes. Bank on it.

I’m guessing that her contract makes it easier to call it a suspension.
Perhaps the Trumps’ personal lawyer, Mr. Cohen, has long ago contacted them and THAT is why the “suspension”.
SNL hasn’t been any good in 40 years...with the few exceptions, later on, when Steve Martin was on.
It’s not OK for adults to pick on kids, least of all because you don’t like their dad - why is this hard for Rosie O’Donnell and other liberal women to understand?
This is the kind of thing that makes Melania turn into Sarah Palin; only with BIG LEAGUE LAWYERS and BILLIONS of dollars behind her to boot.

I did tune in, when our President, was on, before the election, but that show wasn't any good that night either.

Over and above the political overtones, the writing is not funny on any level.
The woman I mentioned ranted and made faces. She has a very unfortunate face to begin with, and the faces she made were disgusting.
I swear the only applause must be canned.
