Will Donald Trump’s boastful bluster drown out the Obama legacy? {Lib panic + BARF alert}
The Guardian ^ | 22 Jan 2017 | Joy-Ann Reid

America is about to experience a profound sense of whiplash as power is transferred from a president whose eloquence brought him to the public stage to one whose modes of communication are largely limited to political pep rallies (including the occasional pep rally disguised as a press conference) and “mean tweets”.

...Barack Obama is one of a handful of presidents considered not just a good speaker but a great one (Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton come to mind). He shares with Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan the distinction of coming to prominence on the basis of a speech anti-war speech (Obama’s in 2002, Lincoln’s anti-slavery addresses, and Reagan’s “A Time for Choosing” in support of Republican candidate Barry Goldwater in 1964).

..Obama’s uncanny talent for pulling hope out of even the dark firmament of America’s history of slavery, racism and segregation placed him in the ranks not just of presidents, but of abolitionists and civil rights leaders, who saw past America’s uneven execution of its founding creed to its potential to perfect it. Indeed, as my co-editor on We Are the Change We Seek, EJ Dionne asserts, the notion of “perfecting our union” is a chord that runs throughout Obama’s body of speeches. For him, the word perfect is an active verb, not an adjective.

...Years before, he spoke to the Muslim world in Cairo, and dreamed a world in which Christianity, Judaism and Islam greet each other with mutual respect.

Obozo’s “legacy” is toast, and libtards are going to be in meltdown for years to come.

Listening to him speak spontaneously, no teleprompter, is agonizing! The only thing he is good for is reading smoothly off the teleprompter - that he is skilled at, but nothing else. He was the robot president.

I should have said the puppet president.....

He needs someone else to pull his strings, provide his words, etc.

Has Trump referred to himself as "The Won" or told the Left - "You lost, I won, get over it" yet?

He's going about his business and w/o some degree of bravado and brashness, it won't happen the way we all want it to.

This article is incredible -- it tries to compare Obama to Lincoln, FDR, JFK, Reagan!!!

As Obama often did in his speeches.

I await their example of Obama’s Reaganesque rhetoric (lies don’t count).

Maybe, “spread the wealth” spoken to Joe the Plumber, who was rich only in aspiration.

Maybe when he echoed E. Warren’s “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that - somebody else made that happen.”

Unbelievable.

Little Ms. Hyphenated must never have heard him talk off-Teleprompter.

Exactly. We want only eligible candidates for the office. Nothing less.
