The print edition of Fridays Washington Post, on the last page of the A Section, contained a full-page advertisement featuring a painting of an arresting Muslim woman in an American flag hijab. The image appears to be the work of Shepard Fairley, the artist who created the now iconic (if illegally copied) Obama Hope picture of 2008. It is a clever and insidious piece of leftist/Islamist propaganda put out by a far-left organization called the Amplifier Foundation, which obviously hopes it will become as well known and popular as Fairleys Obama image. It is worth examining for its tricks and illusions, as a cautionary example of how far the left can go, and how effective it can still be, in the age of Trump.
People on either political extreme probably almost immediately see the image as subversive, those on the left in a positive way and on the right negatively. I dont place myself at either extreme. Perhaps as a result, my own initial reaction was discomfort. Guilt followed. Why should I be uncomfortable with a woman in an American flag hijab? I dont have a problem with Muslim women wearing hijabs (as opposed to full chadors which are more problematic for security and social reasons.)
According to polls my attitude appears to track with most Americans, 62% of whom hold a favorable attitude toward Muslims, with a lower number (only 44%) holding a favorable opinion of Islam as a creed. Those polls skew predictably whether respondents are Republican or Democrat, with the former less positive, the latter much more, and independents in the middle.

Islam is the religion of the Anti-Christ, so indeed it would be rated as popular. Islam rejects freedoms, womens rights, free thought, free press, right to assembly, freedom of religion, and in fact it rejects almost all our constitutional rights. Funny how the people today who embrace and admire Islam are the very same ones in the 1970’s that protested against such organizations. And, those same people who protested against the press and government in the 1970’s now fully trust the government and press.
How easily are the masses controlled through propaganda
I DO have a problem with Muslimahs wearing hijabs. Especially those which hijack our national colors.
They shout “In your FACE, infidel! Show respect to your superiors!”
Destroy islamism.
Note too that there were no rag-heads involved in the inauguration.
Outlaw Islam
Expel all Muslims
Stop all aid to Muslim lands
The hijab for women is the equivalent of the yellow star patch for Jews - a bit of cloth which self-appointed "superiors" compel those whom they view as inferior to wear.
Just wait until Muslims attain a good percentage of the national population. Then people will see what subversion looks like.
Yeah, ladies. You want “women’s rights” go Islam all the way. Don’t waste a moment, do it now.
I would find a way to tax Islam in America for now.
They want to play they gotta pay.
And the dopes here embrace it, they dont even know what its about because they dont read
This is the sort of propaganda at which the left excels.
Most do not realize that they do similar things with every movie and television show you see. This is why 50% of the country was about ready to elect that corrupt hate filled witch to be President.
If we don't counteract the left's propaganda system, they are going to eventually win, and the nation will face collapse and destruction.
> We the people are greater than fear
What does that mean? It might make sense for some groups. I fear for the world because of Islamic terrorism but that doesn’t define me, so I guess I’m “greater than fear”?
But this is coming from people who make up new things to be afraid of every day (while ignoring real dangers). Then try to make children have nightmares about the imagined dangers as they creep into safe spaces and echo chambers where they can avoid seeing reality. Reality being where the imagined dangers are not happening, and unless you live somewhere like south Chicago there is not a lot to fear in the US compared to most of the world.
Was this before or after her husband beat her and stoned her
It is exactly that sort of graphic visualization that would be an effective counter to this blatant propaganda effort. Someone with artistic talent should make an effort to create a counter graphic to this effect.
Actually, this picture can be defined as anti-Sharia.
Consider that she is draped in a facsimile of the American Flag which is the world wide definition of personal freedom.
Consider that her face is exposed and that she is wearing red lipstick. That is in direct defiance against sharia.
This is an in-your-face anti-Sharia propaganda and my guess is that very soon there will be a fatwa issued against said artist Shepard Fairley who will then have to go into hiding. LOL Unintended consequence.
That is the only way leftists and many others will ever understand it.
Of course, by enforcing it as Muslims do, all homosexuals that could be found would be dead.
All feminists would be dead.
Almost all liberals would be dead.
Almost all "celebrities" would be dead.
Most banks and other lending institutions would be out of business.
The income tax would be gone.
All musicians and people in the music industry would be out of business or dead.
The entire alcohol, beer, wine, hard booze, etc., would be gone.
Most night clubs would be gone.
No more bacon, pulled pork, ham, etc.
There would be no more health insurance (insurance is gambling by Sharia law)
No more welfare. If you can't work, you beg.
Education spending would be way down as no females would be attending school.
And so on.
Only through suffering such as that would the few remaining liberals "get it".
If they were still liberal any more.
Looks like communist propaganda from the Soviet era. The Left is despicable but their tears are delicious. Trump is going to drive them insane and I am going to love every moment of their tantrums and nervous break downs.
