Fireworks! Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas (R) offers Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon (D) a Valium during the Treasury confirmation hearing.
Senator Roberts: “Senator Wyden, I’ve got a Valium pill here if you might wanna take it before the second round…just a suggestion”
Senator Wyden: “Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman, I hope that comment about Valium doesn’t set the tone for 2017 in this committee. I like Senator Roberts but I…I just can’t quite believe he would say that to a distinguished Senator from Oregon.

Some of the Democrat questioners have the manners of snotty arrogant pigs. The way they talk to decent honest members of society is disgraceful. After they have questioned and abused a potential appointee, it is good to see someone obliquely stick up for the appointee by lampooning a liberal gasbag.

It would be difficult to substantiate now, but I had heard that law enforcement was willing to endorse him, but he didn’t think he needed it, and didn’t actively try to get their endorsement. It might have made the difference had he done so.

The distinguished Oregon Senator lives in New York. Only in Oregon are the libs so stupid they reelect a Sinator who hasn’t lived in the state for 20 years and lives in NYC when not in DC.
