Thank You, President Obama

This is it, the last full day of President Barack Obama’s tenure. Damn, it feels better than I thought it would. Forgive my smile as I type.

As President Obama makes his way out the door like a drunk who has been tossed from a bar and is determined to smash every glass on his way out, it’s important to take a moment to reflect upon all the good he’s done while he occupied 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Yes, you read that right – thank you, President Obama.

No man has done more to both discredit Democrats and elect Republicans than he has over the last eight years.

More than 1,000 elected Democrats are now experiencing first-hand the joys of looking for work in the Obama economy, with roughly 4,000 more political appointees set to join them tomorrow.

Were it not for Barack Obama, Democrats might still control the House and/or the Senate.

Were it not for Barack Obama, some other Democrat might have replaced late Justice Antonin Scalia.

Were it not for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton may well have been elected president in 2008. Her email server wasn’t yet an issue, nor was her horrible record as secretary of state. And there’s every reason to suspect John McCain, who refused to bring up Rev. Wright, would’ve run an equally weak campaign against her. Whew, bullet dodged!

Were it not for Barack Obama, Democrats with a Democratic president may well have worked with Republicans to pass watered down versions of his executive orders. Once something is codified in law it’s much easier to expand. Since Obama chose to ignore Congress, much of his “legacy” can be wiped from history with a signature from that magic pen of his, which Donald Trump will soon wield.

Were it not for Barack Obama, many Americans still wouldn’t know just how big of a failure government is when it tries to run segments of the economy best left to the private sector. Many people who thought Obamacare didn’t sound so bad now personally know what happens when government tries to “help.” Hell, McCain may have tried to do some half-measure of the same failed plan, but Obama did it instead. Again, bullet dodged!

Were it not for Barack Obama, Americans might not recognize the threat of radical Islam and the real danger of pretending it doesn’t exist. No Republicans, and virtually no other Democrat, would have insisted the attack at Fort Hood was “workplace violence” and not a terrorist attack. It’s likely only Barack Obama could have led a progressive chorus denouncing the Pulse nightclub attack as being about guns or homophobia when there was audio of the terrorist declaring he was doing it in the name of ISIS. No one else would have had the chutzpah.

Were it not for Barack Obama, the media would not have been as exposed as the press release copy-pasting stenographer activists with press credentials they are. Millions more people would still believe they were honest brokers interested only in afflicting the comfortable and comforting the afflicted. Thanks to how far overboard they went to protect Obama, the blinders are gone and the throne-sniffers exposed.

There is little doubt Republicans could not have made these gains and changes in national dialogue and perception on their own. The GOP is known for horrible messaging, bad campaigning and caving when the chips are down. With rare exception, they win only by default.

Barack Obama famously said his ascension to the national stage would be viewed as “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow.” That was aiming a little too high, but the tide sure turned.

Yes, he did a lot of damage. But part of the beauty of the United States is our system was designed so perfectly by our Founding Fathers that it is difficult to take down, even from the seat of ultimate power. The debt was doubled, the military weakened, our leadership in the world and our reputation damaged, but we are still standing.

No one would have suspected the greatest elector of Republicans the country has ever seen would be the most celebrated Democrat the country has ever known. For that, I want to say as you leave, “Thank you, Barack Obama.”

I don’t care if the door hits you on the way out…

21 hours and 10 minutes until we have a Constitutionally eligible legitimate President again.

I hope the door hit’s him squarely in the azz.

With the doorknob entering directly into the rectal orifice. It would hurt both going in and when he is pulled off of it.

Just TRY getting that picture out of your head.

IF this SOB was smart, he’d be on his way out of the country to someplace that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the USA.

That would be the Soviet Union. Perhaps he and his pal Snowden can share a villa.

Hopefully he'll be able to find it.

Article raises a great point.

A more moderate Democrat who did not seek to set fire to every bridge could have ended up dong A LOT more damage in the long run.

Some people thought he was going to ignore the 2 term limit.

I sure wish I could’ve taken more comfort in that fact while it was happening, but it sure felt like a stick in the eye to all of us, EVERY time this POS did an end-run around Congress.

2008. Hillary... 2016.Obama.
2008. Obama... ..2016.Trump.

take your pick.
Obama is my hero

Threatens extortion? How about for the past few years since my husband has gone back to school. Yeah, like $695.00 at tax time because the insurance offered is too expensive. Nothing like penalizing hardworking taxpayers, but providing freebies for others. There is a reason people are furious.

And yesterday we got an IRS reminder that we need to get an exemption or face a huge fine in 2017.

You found me stash of Obama dolls!

Eh, keep ‘em. The market was saturated by the end of 2009 anyway, and only the low cost of production kept it going at all.

I wrote this to a friend yesterday:

I realized today, probably since viewing the PBS American Experience program, The Divided States of America, that I can actually eke out a little bit of gratitude toward soon-to-be-former pres__ent B. H. 0bama.

I am grateful that he didn’t fundamentally transform the U.S. enough that we can’t reverse the damage.

I am grateful that his actions in his first six months of office led to the outrage that birthed the Tea Party movement, putting over 80 tea party candidates in Congress.

I am grateful that GOP state and federal legislators have continued their gains in every election since 2010.

I am grateful that he didn’t close Guantanamo and cede the land to Raoul Castro.

I am grateful for the little poison policy pills he has left behind, for we’ll be reminded of his treachery every time Trump has to fix one of them.

I am grateful for his hypocritical wearing of the flag pin, for we’ll continue to be reminded of Pres. Trump’s true love of country.

I am grateful for the petulant boycott of the Inauguration by 0’s hysterical supporters, for that will leave more seats for Deplorables.

I am grateful for his pretending to be magnanimous to the Trump Transition Team. If it isn’t genuine, at least there’s the appearance of respect. It’s better than being in the streets with a bullhorn leading the faux insurrection.

I am grateful in advance if his people don’t trash the White House. 0 isn’t a Clintonite. I am grateful that everything he tried to do to get Hillary elected backfired.

I am grateful he will no longer be using Air Force One.

I am grateful he can appreciate the intelligence and innate skill of Donald Trump in winning the White House by plowing through the elites of both the Republican and Democrat parties. I am glad he has publicly stated one should not underestimate Trump.

I am grateful he sent the Winston Churchill bust back to the British, for it will be all the sweeter to enjoy its return.

I am glad he stabbed Benjamin Netanyahu in the front, only to increase respect and cooperation for the Israeli Prime Minister.

I’m somewhat glad he bungled everything from Fallujah to Benghazi, because it will gain respect for Trump’s generals.

I’m grateful he downsized our military, for it will re-emerge to be the best equipped and staffed military in the world.

I would be grateful for his half-billion dollar check to the UN this week if it’s the last money they get from us, to be used to vacate our shores.

I am grateful for his regime’s political correctness, as the power of our resulting fury swept Donald Trump into the White House.

I am grateful he didn’t declare martial law and occupy the White House for a third term.

I’m grateful for 0’s endless narcissistic soliloquies, because they are essentially over, and because they give me a new appreciation of 140 character tweets.

Very little news about them, but I live on the west coast and heard, they circled the Palm Springs airport for 2.5 hours waiting for the pounding rain and wind storm to lift, they had to land at another airport.

Heard this morning LA area, Palm Springs only an hour or so away is going to receive a huge storm of wind and rain, they are worried about landslides on the burned out areas of the hills.

Just so you all know, Palm Springs is kind of the homosexual vacation capital of CA. I read one news story they were going there to visit homosexual friends.
