DC Police will not be able to run on their body cameras at inauguration day protests. Washington DC – All DC Police Officers have recently been outfitted with body cameras, but they will be in serious trouble if they have them on during the Inauguration Day protests.
NBC News 4’s Mark Segraves reported that it’s “against the law” for body cameras to be on while police are at protests unless the officer is required to take action. This means that officers can turn the cameras on when they want to arrest somebody, but they will be unable to capture what led up to the arrest.

We ,of our own making, now live in a crazy World. These, to use the term very loosely, people are not protesters, they are criminals. And should be dealt with as such. When they interfere with Citizens going about their legal everyday business, they go from protesters to criminals. They fight with the police fulfilling their obligation to enforce the law, they are criminals. They beat the old lady in a wheelchair brains out merely because she voted for Trump, they are criminals and not protesters. And should be treated accordingly. It is best that I stay away from events like this because I know what I would if one of them hit my wife or children or spit in their faces.
They’ve been demanding body cameras for years, but now that the body cameras may be used to identify people trying to shut down the inauguration, they are pulling back.
I meant whoever said that the police can’t use cameras might be fake not this thread. Just seems so nuts!

Maybe MPD is relying on all the existing surveillance cameras in the peoples republic of dc.....

This is strictly so nobody can identify leftist protestor committing crimes.
Good. Now they can crack heads with impunity.
They forget that those who support Trump have “smartphones” ready to use in regards to the protesters.
But there are smartphones out there so any attemps will be prevented.
With Bikers for Trump showing up and the reality of the “smartphones”, it may force the protesters to lets just say mind their p’s and q’s.
This is so stupid, I can’t even begin to understand why anyone would want to be a policeman/woman when insane people are making these nonsensical rules.
I suppose that’s their motive: shrink the police force down to zero so anarchy can rule the day.
Plus those attending will will have smartphones ready to take video or pictures.
They want no record of the protesters. Now if this was a 2A protest they would have them all on.
