TODD: There was a new report out from Esquire magazine... that seemed to indicate that it is your intent to remove the White House press corps from the White House. is that true?
PRIEBUS: Well, look, first of all let me explain. No, because the White House obviously is 18 acres, right, Chuck? No. the technical answer is no, But what we have is you saw the news conference the other day, and I would have to quarrel with you. I dont think it was a bizarre news conference. I dont think its a fair characterization, but there was 500 to 600 reporters at that news conference. What Im talking about and what were talking about and the only thing that was discussed about this, is whether or not you take 50 people in the very small press room which it looks big on TV, but is very tiny and whether you want to go 50 feet to the EOB and have for the first few weeks or the first months or so the press conferences where you can fit three or four times the amount of people. It is about more access.
TODD: This isnt about the office space or any of that business?
PRIEBUS: This is about quadrupling the amount of reporters that can cover our press conference.
TODD: But there will still be reporters there will still be reporters every day going to work in the White House?
PRIEBUS: Well, that hasnt been determined, Chuck, but as of now the only thing that created this story, I just want to make it very clear was the question of whether or not the press briefings, at least initially are going to be in the EOB.

My assessment is that they don’t belong there. The overwhelming majority of them are either foreign agents or American subversives hell bent on chaos.
Move them out! They do not deserve it! Then rotate attendee questions!
The bottom line is, the new administration wants a bigger room...........another non story
If this shifts to a 400-person room...it means you could go and allow French, Brit, Japanese reporters into the room, and the big-six (NBC, WaPo, NYT, ABC, CBS and Fox News) will have heavy competition. It also means that you could reshuffle the front row and have just blogger journalists or lesser known journalists asking questions.
The press has no business being in the White House. They can remain in their own offices, on their own dime. If and when President elect Trump hold a press conference then he can announce where it’s at. Maybe at the Trump Hotel. Or, outside on the south lawn of the White House.
Put them all outside the fence.
Cancel all White House press passes and invite folks to re-apply.
Issue to a select group of maybe 10% of the existing pass holders, and then bring in Breitbart, and other conservative new media representatives.
There is no right to be a White House press credential holder.
The old model of press interaction is a joke. It’s broken and needs to be replaced. Just do it.
That what “reporters” are doing when they sit around the WH waiting to be spoon-fed by the WH press secretary is “reporting” or “journalism” is preposterous.
Official Washington is being traumatized by the tweets of Donald Trump.
Politico has chronicled the pearl clutching concern by the inside the beltway types over Trump's tweets. It seems Trump speaking directly to the people via Twitter is causing a crisis among mediots, politicians and lobbyists, who just don't know how to handle it as reflected in the article title, Trumps Twitter feed traumatizes Washington.
Agreed—get them out of the people’s house.
eob? enemy operative bunker?
Also, for the sake of “transparency” and “full disclosure” all office space set aside for reporters in the White House should have 24 hour life streaming cameras built into walls and ceilings with no way to block them. All proceedings should be broadcast live - 24 hours a day - on the internet.
I had no idea reporters were staying at the White House. Did I read this correctly?
What business do they have there?
One can only hope, ... MAGA!
Why does there need to be a press office at all? Just have a Skype link for the media. It can then be broadcast over the internet. Questions can be submitted over Skype and the spokesman can pick the questions, which actually is better since it takes the emotion out of the equation.
If the MSM wants to broadcast the presser over their station, they are more than welcome to buy a subscription.
Well, say if things like Benghazi happen, the cover-up is best put together with ValJar leading the war room.
Control is important. I suggest building a new facility that can have multiple uses, very large with transgender bath rooms, a bar and cafeteria with heart unhealthy foods. “Who will pay for this building”? Let the news people buy a yearly subscription with different entry levels; Gold, silver, bronze.
eob = Executive Office Building.
