The former British spy hired to compile a compromising intelligence on President-elect Donald Trump did not set foot in Russia to compile his 35-page dossier.
Fusion GPS — a Washington, D.C.-based firm — hired Christopher Steele to investigate Trump’s past dealings in Russia. Steele is a former MI6 agent who was stationed in Moscow in the 1990s. A GOP donor who opposed Trump hired Fusion GPS in 2015, but Hillary Clinton supporters took over financing the research after Trump won the Republican primary. . .
Steele’s dossier claims Russian intelligence agents collected “compromising” information that could be used to influence Trump, including alleged tapes of the real estate mogul cavorting with prostitutes in a Moscow hotel.

The sharing of the op-research may explain the video clip showing the elder Bush making the “cut-it-off” hand motion during the early Republican debates.

We need to be careful who we allow to asssume the status of “spy.” It is being used to allow leftists with an axe to grind — who have done no spying or who are mere CIA bureaucrats — to attack Republicans.
After Trump won the republican nomination, I asked a person ‘connected’ what the establishments end game was in being never Trumpers. He did not believe they had one, I now believe it is to destroy Trump and replace him with Pence.
The same FusionGPS was hired by Planned Parenthood to discredit the lurid and incriminating videos that taped their executives making incredibly raunchy statements about fetus’s and selling fetus limbs.
So let me get this straight: Anti-Trump forces paid a private firm lots of money to dig up dirt on Trump. This guy couldn’t find any dirt so he essentially took stuff off the internet and made up a story so he could collect a paycheck. Does that sound right?
I would like to know who the Republican Candidate was as well.

It is far from certain that the “spy” was responsible for all the fantastic crap in this report. In fact 4Chan claims that story began with their prank on Wilson, and that the “spy” angle was added later.

It’s been speculated that cockiness on the part of the Clinton campaign led them to believe that they didn’t need to publicize this.
