The Daily Mail on Wednesday reported that Senator John McCain (R-AZ) pushed the dossier full of unverified claims about Donald Trump to the FBI:
Sworn Donald Trump enemy John McCain admitted Wednesday that he passed the dossier of claims of a Russian blackmail plot against the president-elect.
The Arizona senator issued a public statement amid mounting questions of his exact role in the affair and how a document riddled with errors and unverifiable claims came to be published.
Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public, he said.
Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgment about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the Director of the FBI.
That has been the extent of my contact with the FBI or any other government agency regarding this issue.
But the Daily Mail which, it should be noted, seems to like McCain about as much as McCain likes Trump argues that the 2008 Republican loser might have been far more intimately involved than that.
Watergate legend Carl Bernstein is quoted telling CNN that McCain got the dossier from the former British ambassador to Moscow, who in turn got it from that mysterious former British MI6 agent who was hired from a political opposition research firm in Washington that weve been hearing so much about lately.

Isn’t what McCain did against the rules of the Senate? Moreover, did he commit a crime?

“McCain is senile and should be forced to resign!”
Just remove him from all committees and shun him/ignore him.
Republicans just ignore him and look past him and never speak to him.
McAnal is an egomaniac, and he could not handle being shunned and on zero committees.

McCain, John. Grandson of a US Navy admiral. Son of a US Navy admiral. Fighter pilot aboard the Forrestal — in one of the A-4 Skyhawk aircraft destroyed in the fire — one of, if not the, first aircraft affected when a Phantom loosed a rocket on the deck (hat tip to DKos poster Timpanogus). Forty-one years ago, the Navy yanked McCain out of a burning plane — and off the carrier where it caught fire. He was transferred immediately. The plane was recorded as a crash, credited to McCain. His fifth and final crash resulted from being shot down over Vietnam. One of McCain's wrecks is on the bottom of Corpus Christi Bay; one’s in Iberia; one was jettisoned over the side of the Forrestal during that god-awful inferno that killed 134 sailors that same day, destroyed more than 20 combat aircraft, and sent the ship into drydock so long she never went back to Southeast Asia air operations.

Why was there no other republican to challenge McCain in a primary though?
To: Blue Highway
He was challenged in the primary by a very sharp female doctor. I forget her name right now. She lost, but I think she’ll be back.

There was, but I'm not in Arizona anymore, so I know nothing about him. Plus, it seems as though an almost impossibility, to ouster a Senator.
I think we need term limits for the Senate as well.
