South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma is calling on South Africans not to visit Israel in order to show solidarity with “the people of Palestine”, the Africa News website reported Sunday.
Zuma’s comments came at the 105th anniversary celebration of the ruling African National Congress (ANC), during which he reiterated the party’s solidarity with the “oppressed people of the world”, citing “Palestine” as an example.
“The people of Palestine continue to suffer in their rightful quest for self-determination … We reiterate that we firmly discourage travel to Israel for causes not related to fostering peace in the region,” Zuma was quoted as having said in a speech heard by thousands of party supporters. …

South Africa is no longer safe. Whites are often treated as second class citizens. Way too many blacks walking around with open weapons in South Africa. It is headed back to the days of being a 3rd world nation.
I’ve known too many people that have had to move from South Africa. Don’t go. It is unsafe.

South Africa and Israel was buddies during Aparthied days. Both were unpopular.

No, not really. Israel was an early critic of apartheid after South Africa left the British Commonwealth. They would probably not have had any kind of relationship with South Africa if the other (proto-communistic/Islamic) African countries had not rejected their overtures of relationship, which necessitated a strategic relationship on the part of both countries.
SA and Israel collaborated on their nuclear programs, and IIRC Israel detonated a nuke off the coast od SA once.

My friends from South Africa say that there is not a single family they know that has not had muggings and house invasion and gun injuries from urban terrorists. I saw for myself the fact that every private home and bed and breakfast has prison-like iron gates on every window, plus iron fences surrounding them.
