‘Untapped Energy:’ Trump Promises A $50 Trillion Economic Stimulus
The Daily Caller ^ | September 23, 2016 | Michael Bastasch

Posted on 01/03/2017 8:37:15 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump laid out his energy plan to industry experts Thursday that included policies to unleash $50 trillion from “untapped” oil, natural gas and coal reserves.

Trump said “untapped energy — some $50 trillion in shale energy, oil reserves and natural gas on federal lands, in addition to hundreds of years of coal energy reserves,” according to The Wall Street Journal report on the candidate’s speech at an energy summit in Pittsburgh, Penn.

It’s all part of Trump’s plan to boost lagging energy production on federal lands. Trump said he would open up all federal lands to drilling, mining and even renewable energy — that includes opening more offshore areas to energy production.

Trump also told energy industry executives and insiders he would repel “all unnecessary regulations, and a temporary moratorium on new regulations not compelled by Congress or public safety.”(continued)

I get your point about in-office performance counting, but in this time period, where the next president is toothless, I really can not fathom who it would have been, among Trump’s typical gargling competitors, could have possibly produced the IMPACT on so many people, so fast, so soon.

There is no doubt in *my* mind, anyway, that the howling is about to begin from all the usual suspects who want to match wits and muscle against TRUMP. They are Republican Establishment figures, who are still running both houses of Congress. Paul Ryan is just short of being anti-American, with his incalculable sympathies for every one else, but the Middle Class who is paying for his Bull S&i+ sympathies.

His thinking has cost us jobs, lives, and physical security and he is no friend to TRUMP, nor those of us (from both sides of the aisle) who elected him.

So, what TRUMP promised is soon coming at Congress. What kind of stew they can make out of Trump’s promises remains to be seen and is entirely on them. They mostly despise TRUMP.

We can not reasonably expect TRUMP to fulfill promises by himself. Our representatives respect neither us, nor him.
They will wear responsibility for our future.

Yes it would! :D

American energy is the key to our future. We have the technology now to become a Colossus in energy production. We just need the will to use it.

The Free Traitors™ that infest Free Republic aren’t going to like your post. They hate the thought of a manufacturing self sufficient and independent USA. The hate Americans in general, I think. I wish I was that rich and I could trash my fellow Americans and be a good gloBULLYist.

Bring the cost of a delivered cubic yard of redimix down by 50 to 70%.

And the cement provider makes an obscene profit off that. 'Merica - love it or leave it.

I am a big believer in the government staying out of energy from the view point of economic policy. The government does not need to be deciding what companies and / or what technologies are “best”.

I do believe that the government does have a vested interest as a consumer of energy and energy products. As such, it is a reasonable assertion that creating alternatives to existing sources of energy. Nuke power via thorium and coal to liquids are two examples that come to mind. We don’t have to, and should not be investing tax dollars in building those infrastructures. However, pilot programs that show that these technologies are viable I am ok with.

Items related to coal and gas locally sourced energy. An end-run around the EPA was already in progress for coal use in electrical generation, the development of a multi-fuel advanced turbine system. It needs no cooling water source, allowing ease of placement, and produces no emissions to the air. 52%-61% efficient depending on fuel used. The CO2 output is useful in enhancing petroleum recovery; also, can now be stored as a solid mineral created in basalt formations.

I grew up being taught to not make promises I could not keep. I live by those teachings.

If you do not live by those teachings then you are a bag of hot air expelling lies and hoping people will slather their good will in your direction.

Not withstanding the people in charge of the Houses are degenerates and are no friend of the American middle class. Paul Ryan should change parties and become what his wife as taught him to be. Mitch the spineless, will drag out all that will help the Senate to achieve good for us and the Trump administration.

Trump has a long row to hoe but I did not make the promises, he did. He knew what he was getting into bed with.

Thankfully, Trump is already collecting on his promise for “The Wall”,... and... Mexico will pay for it.

Not even president yet and already 1100 jobs and countless numbers of appliances and auto profits are off the table and out of Mexico, returned to the USA.

Mexico has done the math. They are starting to get the picture. They are “panicked”. That’s a quote.

Even Paul Ryan was powerless to interfere. My point, before all the rabbit trails and cynicism, was that no other contender would be lapping the track (and also the nay sayers, whiners, and losers) like Trump.

He is a machine. Something like we’ve never seen.. may never see again, near the White House.

Some people hate success. Others fear it. I love it.

Grampa Munster? YEAH, NOW you’re cookin’ with gas!

Lotta TV shows had cars.

VERY few had ANYTHING as cool as the cars made for The Munsters, and Grampa Munster’s drag strip coffin “Dragula” was — dare I say it? — to DIE for!

LOL!

Jesus.

Not a fan of Rand Paul, but I'm really pleased with my Senator's stand alone against another profligate budget. May God bless him.

Low governmental regulation of business and cheap energy were core elements of the USA’s economic power in the 20th Century. #MAGA

America's "Greatness" or humiliation will come from God alone.

1 Samuel 2:7
The LORD makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts.

I'm greatful for Clinton's and the Democrat's defeat and hopeful and prayerful for the Trump Administration.

God uses everybody. My praise is sincere and greatful. I qualified it for emphasis but I guess it was just a distraction.
