McConnell Tells McCain and Graham ‘Knock it Off’ (RE: "The Vast Russian Conspiracy”)

Today a Politico article reveals the John McCain/Lindsey Graham push to create an international crisis with Russia has found push-back from an unlikely source, Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.

(Politico) John McCain and Lindsey Graham are backing off of their push for a select committee on cybersecurity after Russian interference in the election, bowing to the political reality that the Senate Republican Conference largely does not back their idea.

[…] “We’re just going to move with the individual committees and see how that works. If it doesn’t work, we’ll regroup,” [Lindsey] Graham said in an interview.

The House Intelligence Committee Chairman Nunes, has already clearly stated the insufferable intelligence claims of John Brennan (CIA) and James Clapper (ODNI) just simply don’t make sense.

Additionally, Nunes highlighted how neither intelligence group was willing to make their case of “Russian Hacking” on-the-record to the House Permanent Committee on Intelligence.

Just sayin’ maybe Mitch could have said “stop it” or “lay off” or “zip It” or some phrase other than “knock it off.”

Linda claimed the other day that he had 99 of 100 “Senators” behind him. Fantastic wishful thinking I suppose.

Trump was correct in hiring Mitch’s wife to a job in the administration. Worked like a charm. Nice to see him shutting down these two lovebirds.

That 4-dimensional chess Trump play.

Donald Trump is the captain of the Republicans not these two ass-hats. Sit down and shut-up McCain. And your little girlfriend too.

I ride McConnell pretty hard here. Saying that up front, it seems he has done some solid work here and deserves to be praised for it.

He had nothing particularly to gain from it, it was just the right thing to do. That’s why I am motivated to give him credit here.

McCain was completely over the top on this matter. Advocating an act of war against Russia? That was one of the most blatant uncalled for ignorant rants I’ve seen come from a Senator.

I say this, because we’re talking about war between two nuclear powers. You don’t even kid about that, and McCain wasn’t kidding. He wanted an act of war against Russia, and said so.

This is statecraft. It is the pushing of U.S. policy when you aren’t authorized to do so, and making those comments in the Ukraine no less.

This could lead the Ukraine leadership to think we would back any play they made. For heaven’s sake, there’s a damned good reason why U.S. Senators and Congressmen can’t seek to set U.S. policy over a president’s head like this.

These two morons, Graham and McCain actually found a way to make Obama look smarter by comparison.

Although he wanted sanctions, I don’t believe he advocated for an act of war.

Good: McConnell on this one

Deserving of censure or being drummed out of the Senate: McCain, and Graham too if he joined McCain in his “act of war” diatribes. McCain went there twice.

Good grief what a loon.

I presume that operating in NY Trump learned to buy protection once. Go to the toughest guy around, make him part of the business so he only gets paid if the whole thing is a success and it is his job to take care of anyone else looking for a piece of the action.
