The United States could have killed a key United Nations resolution that condemned Israel for its West Bank settlements by voting against it rather than abstaining, former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton said Friday night, but he thinks President Barack Obama took the action to "box the incoming Trump administration in."
"This was a stab in the back against the Israelis," Bolton told Fox News' "Hannity" show Friday night. "It was entirely predictable. I would say this for people in the pro-Israel community in the United States who defended Obama's Middle East policy over these last eight years: You should have seen this coming and this is what you get for supporting Barack Obama."
Obama has had a contentious relationship with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the years, Bolton conceded, but he thinks the administration's decision to abstain from the UN vote on Friday goes deeper than that.
"I think this was an effort to box the in-coming Trump administration in, and it violates nearly 50 years of American bipartisan policy on the Middle East, going back to the iconic resolution 242 after the 1967 war."
The proposed resolution says Israel's occupation is "illegitimate," said Bolton, and "therefore it has no land to give back in exchange for peace. Contrary to what the Obama administration has said, this puts a huge thumb on the scale against Israel."

absolutely right- This was pure evil one dear leader’s part- and can not be undone- it now ‘legitimizes’ (in the UN’s minds at least) the accusations against Israel and they can now try Israel on ‘war crimes’ and ‘crimes against humanity’ (for nothing more than the Jews dwelling in their own land)- and they can use these judgments eventually to move against Israel forcefully- in war- having ‘the weight of international judgment against Her’
This was such a blatant disgraceful F-U to Israel - it was a blatant disgusting betrayal- and it will have far reaching ramifications-

Sure, Israel can ignore this, and Donald can defund the UN- however, the damage is permanent and will escalate thanks ot the disgusting betrayal perpetrated by the outgoing president-

Could be, but Trump admin. won't be boxed in, and Israeli actions will be unaffected. Hussein Obama must know this. He just couldn't resist poking his finger in Israel's eye one last time before existing the stage.
I advocate to cut funding to one dollar a year. Sometimes a tip of two cents is more effective than not leaving a tip at all, it gets the point across that service was really bad.
These clowns never learn that Trump flips the script.

It’s more than just word-s now the UN thinks they have the right to try them in an international court of law, and declare them guilty because ‘The majority of nations in the UN declare that Israel is guilty’- and they will later use this verdict to move against Israel by force for ‘not complying’ the the demands of the verdict- They will couch this atrocity in the lie that they are doing this in the name of equality- and will likely have a majority of support as many nations can’t stand Israel or God’s people in general-

Most folks do not know it, but the UN actually has FOUR headquarters around the globe: 1) New York, USA; 2) Geneva, Switzerland; 3) Nairobi, Kenya; and 4) Brussels, Belgium. I say we give the UN an ultimatum to get out of the USA in 6 months and decamp to one of their three other headquarter. America dumps its membership in the UN and cuts them off from all US dues. The UN headquarters is then bulldozed and given to the City of New York.
You do have a point and it’s a good one.
But somehow, maybe in a vision I had, I see that this resolution may be the one that breaks the ‘Camel’s back’. We may see the U.S. out of the U.N. and the U.N. out of the U.S. during the next four years. And really now... without the U.S. paying for the U.N. there will soon be no more U.N.
In many ways I see the whole thing unraveling like Maggie Thatcher once famously said, “Eventually, Socialists run out of other peoples’ money [to spend].” The U.N. relies on Other People’s Money and Other People’s Armies to do their ‘good’ works. Without either of those two then it is just a glorified debating society leading back to my comment about “Words... Just words.”
All Obama has done is box in his own legacy. I am surprised Obama can stand his own smell without retching.
A five year old could have predicted his infantile refusal to vote against the latest antisemitic U.N. resolution. They have degenerated into nothing more than a "Jihadi Body" and we should pull out of the U.N., stop contributing to it, and sell the building. Let them pass umpteen-diddly "resolutions" day and night among themselves. Who will care? They act like nasty adolescent girls at a slumber party, dreaming up nasty things to say to the unpopular girl. Israel will laugh at them as they deserve.
After a thorough cleaning, fumigation, and count of White House valuables, the place will be fit for Trump & Family to move in.
my only disagreement is that the nations that are in the UN are wealthy mulsim oil country nations- they don’t contribute money because We’ve been stupid enough to carry the UN but if we withdraw=- they may just pour their own money from their vast wealth into it-
And-—throw that bunch of trash out of our country!!
