The London Financial Times reported that Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said immediately after the appointment that Beijing is now monitoring the policy positions of the incoming Trump Administration: “As two major powers with broad mutual interests, co-operation is the only correct choice.”

Co-operation with the US looking out for its own interests is exactly why Beijing is going ballistic. We have been rolling over and losing this trade war for years. Finally, we'll begin to fight back.

Maybe it’s a language issue. In English, “cooperation” and “surrender” are not synonyms.

Good
Glad they are “ monitoring the policy positions of President Trump”
Instead of stirring up mischief they knew they could get away with

I think Reagan realized that the Soviet Union was fragile. If pushed, it might collapse. He pushed; they collapsed.

I think Trump realizes that China is fragile. If we simply look out for our own interests (for a change) we can recapture a huge part of the global economy. Why wouldn’t we push?

I watched a piece with Lou Dobbs the other night. He said, “Other countries living off of America's trade deficits”. How true.

I went out to the .gov trade websites and began researching trade by country. Google is your friend...lol.

Amazing when you come to China and Messy-co. Huge trade deficits with these countries. Amazing to see the majority of countries we trade with...WE hold the deficit while they enjoy the surpluses. {{{just shaking my head}}}

Whomever negotiated these trade deals clearly meant to place the U.S. at a disadvantage.

Co-operation is a two-way, one way street.

They couldn’t go ballistic if it wasn’t for Bill Clinton.

Oh I didn’t realize the Chinese consulted us before promoting the hardliners who militarized the South China Sea.

China needs US, we don’t need them. Mr Trump is just reminding them of that pesky little fact.

"Whomever negotiated these trade deals clearly meant to place the U.S. at a disadvantage."

"Whomever" is comprised of all the folks who just lost that election last month.

Not just the figureheads like Clinton and Kaine and the down ticket candidates,
but the Crony Cap bureaucrats embedded (interesting word, "embedded")
in the lobbying firms, alphabet agencies and pizza parlors of DC.

The "Aufgeblasenblutegelbourgeoisieburokraten."

“Flags at Wal Mart at half staff...”

Always remember that Hillary was on the Board of Directors of Walmart and they funded Bill’s election bid.

Charlie Trie and 34 Chinese Nationals escaped to China and were never prosecuted for contributing to Bill Clinton’s campaign.

And in return, Bill did everything he could to assist Walmart and China to steal the American Jobs!!!

Peter Navarro was co-author of “Death by China: Confronting the Dragon”, a treatise on the lopsided and basically fixed game the US has been playing with China, with China so far in the lead it is going to take a huge effort to even get back to a partially leveled playing field.

The first step in the resolution of any problem is first to define what the problem is. And you can bet the Chinese have parsed Navarro’s work very carefully.

Putting China in turmoil is not a bad foreign strategy at all. When they come to Trump and ask, what can we do to make it stop, Trump may then reply, now that you mention it, there is a short list of what would be beneficial to both of us.

The word is great! Please break it down for those of us seeing it for the first time.

This fact alone should have cost Hillary the election. I’ve often wondered why Trump never played that “Trump Card” during his campaign.

"Other countries living off of America's trade deficits”

It does make you wonder if this has been the unofficial "official" foreign policy to buy the peace over the years.
