A misunderstanding that barred six state Department of Corrections officers Tuesday from having lunch at the new Cheesecake Factory in Tacoma has been resolved.
By Wednesday morning, the Cheesecake Factorys corporate office reached out to the state Department of Corrections and the six involved officers to apologize and assure them that law enforcement is indeed welcome in the chains restaurants.
Apparently a shift manager misunderstood or miscommunicated the policy about law enforcement having service weapons on the premises.
“Shift managers make $10hr and were rejected by TSA.”
How the Hell bad do you have to be to be rejected by the TSA?
It’s like when Trump asked the question about Hillary: “How bad do you have to be to be fired by the Watergate Commission?”
Exactly!
They must have seen a drop in the lunch crowd.
I used to carry a compact 45 (10 round mag) on my hip and a Ruger LCP in my pocket. When the Aurora shooting happened I changed to a full-sized 45 to get the extra barrel length and wear a bigger shirt. The 45 I carry has a 12 round mag and sometimes the butt end of the grip/mag will stick out on my shirt if I bend the right way so I may leave it in the car and just carry my LCP. I usually do this when I have to enter my Credit Union as they do not allow weapons of any kind. I will always carry the LCP as a last resort.
They can also blow me if they do not like my pocket knife.
Cheesecake Factory is a hot or miss
Depends on locale
Pricey but big portions
Few chains are worthy actually
Maggianos comes to mind
Original Pancake House....Florida thing
The big Cheesecake Factory in Chicago is top notch
My a$$. This was another case of a petty tyrant given just enough authority to do something really stupid then have corporate apologize for it.
“Shift managers make $10hr and were rejected by TSA.”
How do they expect to get competent people for that wage?
Is there such a thing as “negligent hiring?”
I don’t understand the logic of gun free zones. If they’re worried about bad guys bringing guns in then the rule is worthless. The ONLY thing they’re apparently worried about is a snowflake seeing a gun and having a meltdown.
“I do the opposite. If I see a No-Gun sticker when going into an establishment, I leave. If they dont want my $$$, thats their choice...”
Bingo! That is the right answer.
Never spend your money in a gun-free zone.
Check the manager’s car for an “I’m With Her” bumper sticker.
If they meant it, the “manager” would be looking for work...
” To the extent that there was a miscommunication of our policy, we sincerely apologize.
NON-apology. designed more for the media than the police.
The no guns allowed places are just silly.
They don’t search the patrons going in so how the heck would they know who has a weapon and who doesn’t. I assure you that at any given time in any Cheesecake Factory restaurant there is a customer carrying a weapon.
... and we are much obliged. Thanks for posting! I am glad they corrected this injustice.
The value I got when selling a diamond back was about 1/3 of what was paid for it at retail.
“Take it for what it’s worth.... “
There was no misunderstanding. This was the Cheesecake restaurant hiring a typical out of control liberal. They should be punished severely for it, such as having their business license revoked for 90 days.
Fire the manager.
Give cops free cheesecake for a year.
So, you didn’t go to Jared’s.
