Tacoma Cheesecake Factory apologizes for turning away armed law enforcement officers

(snipped and excerpted)

A misunderstanding that barred six state Department of Corrections officers Tuesday from having lunch at the new Cheesecake Factory in Tacoma has been resolved.

By Wednesday morning, the Cheesecake Factory’s corporate office reached out to the state Department of Corrections and the six involved officers to apologize and assure them that law enforcement is indeed welcome in the chain’s restaurants.

Apparently a shift manager misunderstood or miscommunicated the policy about law enforcement having service weapons on the premises.

Tacoma Cheesecake Factory. Apparently, the space between the manager’s ears is filled with cheesecake.

Yeah riiiiiight......................

Unless the corporate apology includes a free meal for the affected officers - at the expense of the local restaurant - I'm not considering it sincere.

There is a jewelry store chain in the south “Jared’s”.
Walked to the door and was greeted by the signage that I’m not welcome due to my LTC and associated handgun. Have never been back, will never go back.
I’ll buy the wife’s jewelry elsewhere.....

When I carry concealed I haven’t a clue what policy an establishment has, nor do I care. If I want to I go in.

As do I! Even if there is signage saying "no weapons allowed, concealed or otherwise", I still carry! Concealed means just that!

Don't get me wrong. I have compromised. I'll carry only one, instead of the two I always carry.

Nah, that's pretty much bovine excretion.

If you read the bluelivesmatter post (linked in this thread, which precedes this ersatz apology, the corporate first response was boilerplate liberal "we're sorry for saying what we really mean and then getting caught at it":

" To the extent that there was a miscommunication of our policy, we sincerely apologize.”

It’s a non-apology apology.

And plainclothes LEOs are still prohibited from carrying.

FYI, the family is on good trading terms with a local gold/silver/used jewelry dealer where diamonds can be had for very reasonable cost.

Recently a conversation there was about people who come in to sell their diamonds being shocked at how little it’s true value was vs. what whey bought it for at a chain retail jewelry outlet—not mentioning any specific names, but they’re all the same....

Every time I read a story about a restaurant or store doing PC crap like this, I have to wonder: They DO realize people have other places to eat and shop, don’t they?

It seems like the 21st century liberal business guidebook begins with, “First, alienate as many of your customers as possible.”

When I see those signs on commercial property, and I am 'carrying concealed' I don't believe that they mean me.

I am a civilian peace officer, but won't arrest anyone, just protect innocent citizens.

I approved my promotion to 'civilian peace officer' and need no further accreditation {but I do have a degree from Holiday Inn Express and Trump University}.

Agreed. If it comes too it, people will stop eating out and cook at home; they will stop shopping at bricks and mortar stories and shop on line or shop at smaller stores whose owners are not political correct!

Did it include gift cards for a future meal for each LEO, while fully armed? If not, it’s just hot air.

The problem not only were the officers turned away. The character of leaders you are choosing to manage your stores is a bigger problem. Thats a failure on your part.

Until you fix that problem . . . your apology is meaningless.

The rules in Texas are specific:
Signs posted that follow guidelines must be obeyed (yea, I don’t like that either).
But 30:06 & 30:07 regarding concealed and open carry are the law. Signs have to be big, in English and Spanish and prominently displayed. The pistol in a red circle with a slash? Ignore it and laugh!!
Texas has also changed the law about accidental display and accidentally carrying in a restricted area such as an airport. They can’t prosecute you for a felony if you go to the airport and forget you are carrying( as in the past).
Hope old Ann “the bitch” Richards is burning in hell over her lies. Former dem governor warned that blood would flow in the streets if weapons are allowed to be carried by citizens.
Nah, not so much.....

"Every time I read a story about a restaurant or store doing PC crap like this, I have to wonder: They DO realize people have other places to eat and shop, don’t they?"

I think most of these incidents are the result of a lone wolf PC jihadist manger who just doesn't care about the repercussions for the company. They think they are serving the cause and sticking it to the man.

I’ll make it a practic to go in a restaurant just to inform them in a loud voice that I will not patronize a place prohibiting weapons. I just don’t feel safe.
