The hardest thing about explaining very close election defeats is that you can talk yourself into believing any number of factors, large or small, could have made the crucial difference. Hillary Clintons defeat came down to 100,000 votes in three states out of nearly 130 million cast nationally. Thats a deficit so tiny that the search for a single culprit will probably take political detectives down the dark road to madness.
It is understandable that within the ranks of the Clinton campaigns own high command, it is an article of faith that FBI director James Comey cost HRC the presidency by making the ridiculous email-server issue the dominant subject of conversation during the crucial last days of the campaign. It was an external event that came out of the blue (or more specifically, out of the fevered libido of Anthony Weiner) and reinforced doubts about Clintons trustworthiness among a small group of undecided voters in key states.

“The Seattle Seahawks’ defeat in Super Bowl XLIX came down to 2 yards with a minute to go in the game. “
Oh what a night that was.
I’m not too up on football but had the game on and when that play took place I said to myself,”What the hell just happened there?”-——and phoned one of my sons for clarification. :-)
.
GOPe ran Nixon three times. Of course, he won 2 of 3.
Hillary had everything but the votes that she needed.
I agree with the author the Left’s hubris was a major factor.
Actually it is a good article. “Too smart” is used in an ironic way, sort of like “Too smart for your own good”. The gist is the over-reliance of the Clinton campaign on analytical models that were “static”.
What happened was the most amazing of all the Super Bowls. The NFL Network just had a feature the other day "Ten Greatest Interceptions Of All Time" and rated Butler's was #1.Many people say that it was the stupidest play that Seattle could have played. However, they had run that very play 60 times during the regular season and it worked every time *and* Butler had practiced that very play a few weeks before the game.It wasn't stupidity of Seattle's part but, rather, greatness on the Pats' part.

It was releasing the “tape” too soon. Like a football game that is lost in the last seconds by a missed 53 yard field goal, you go back a few plays and see why they did not make the downs that would have gotten them close enough to make that kick.
That tape was supposed to work. All the RINOs thought Trump would pull out of the race. But there was too much time for an effective counter, especially when the octopus comment was debunked by facts.
Their reliance on models is also to be seen in the Warmist scam. Their models, being unable to predict the present from the past, are likewise crap. They seem to think that running their opinions through computers turns them into facts.
It wasn’t close!
The same can be said for Jeb Bush. All of the GOPe were smug in their knowledge that his huge hoard of campaign cash had already given him the nomination and Jeb campaigned that way.
When they finally realized Trump was a freight train and they were standing on the tracks in front of him their old, tired, formulas used for running didn't work. they and their elite brethren were tossed to the side by the citizens of the United States.
Re: “If the fraudulent votes were removed HRCs total numbers would be significantly less. She might even have lost The left coast by 1%.”
Sorry, I have not seen any empirical evidence that supports a claim for massive voter fraud.
In fact, in the months leading up to the general election, I read dozens of Comments at Free Republic that predicted Trump would win in a landslide.
I think a lot of Trump supporters are severely embarrassed that Clinton beat Trump by almost 3 million votes, and that Mitt Romney (47.2%) got a larger share of the Popular Vote than Trump (46.0%) got - and I think those supporters reach for the first excuse they see.
Also, since massive voter fraud cannot be prevented before the election, and since massive voter fraud cannot be detected or prosecuted after the election, how do we know that Trump didn’t steal more votes than Hillary stole?
There’s a simple explanation. It’s not that there was much voter fraud. Hillary was worried she would win the electoral vote but not the popular vote, Trump would question the results. So they went after the popular vote in Chicago and New Orleans
LOL! I guess that makes Trump too dumb to lose.....he obviously wasn’t smart enough to run a campaign, a lemonade stand, or realize he had zero path to 270 EVs....what an idiot!
Old Grandpaw joke: What do you tell a woman with two black eyes? Nothing, you done told her twice.....
Bad joke aside, these idiots are STILL mired in the self-importance and arrogance that has their Party on the verge of absolute destruction....Godspeed, you morons....
There are so many reason that Hillary lost that I don’t have enough toes and fingers to count them all!
The Clintons are zhitty, zhitty human beings and you can only hide that for so long.
