"The Department is under the control and supervision of a United States Secretary of Energy, a political appointee of the President of the United States.

The Energy Secretary is assisted in managing the Department by a United States Deputy Secretary of Energy, also appointed by the President, who assumes the duties of the Secretary in his absence.

The Department also has three Under Secretaries, each appointed by the President, who oversee the major areas of the Department's work.

The President also appoints seven officials with the rank of Assistant Secretary of Energy who have line management responsibility for major organizational elements of the Department."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seems we have open insubordination of a Executive level department. I guess playing with atomic weapons all the time and fiddling with the weather makes you grow too big for your britches.
Every day when I go on FR and read what the President-elect and his people are doing, it confirms for me that GOD really is watching over the USA, and I am motivated to thank Him for the enormous blessings He is bestowing upon us through His servant, DONALD JOHN TRUMP.
So very true, and delightful to behold.
As a nation, we have been given another chance to get things right, and a blue collar billionaire is God's chosen vessel to do it.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
Yes. Except remember some work in the Nuke power function and the Nuke weapons manufacturing function. Those will continue under some heading, somewhere.
Very well, then the department gets gutted to a man. Starting with the person who generated the response stated in the article.
Good plan!
That is a very good thing. It is a hell of a lot easier to fire private contractors than government civil service employees.
Eliminating 100,000 out of a total workforce of 114,000 will be a good first step.
A bunch of those billions ended up in clean energy scams and were recycled back as donations to Democrats. Guess which department funded Solyndra? Major house cleaning needed at DOE!
Actually your blood does thicken.
When the temperature gets back to the 30s from the -20 and no wind you can walk outside in a t-shirt.
What amazed me was the little animals that make it from 100 above in the summer to -85 wind chill in the winter.
A lot of these 100,000 contractors...are PhD folks. These are the ones who’ve been on some type of contract with DOE for two or three decades.
Start at the top.
DONT STOP.
United States Secretary of Energy, Dr. Ernest Moniz is tasked with implementing critical Department of Energy missions in support of President Obama’s goals of growing the economy, enhancing security and protecting the environment.
