Hillary out of hiding: 'After a few weeks of taking selfies in the woods, I thought it would be a good idea to come out,' Clinton says at Capitol Hill event
Hillary Clinton came out of hiding on Thursday to pay tribute to a former colleague, retiring Sen. Harry Reid, on Capitol Hill.
'This is not exactly the speech at the Capitol I hoped to be giving after the election,' she said in remarks at the event. 'But after a few weeks of taking selfies in the woods, I thought it would be a good idea to come out.'
Clinton attended an unveiling of Reid's portrait in the Russell Senate Office this afternoon. Reid, Democrat's party leader in the Senate for the last 12 years, did not run for reelection this year.
'How are you all,' Clinton said as she walked by reporters awaiting her arrival.
Her campaign chairman John Podesta at her side, Clinton continued down the hallway and did not respond when DailyMail.com asked if she'd be returning to the Clinton Foundation.
On only a handful of occasions has Clinton come out in public since she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump a month ago today.
Her first remarks after the election were in Washington last month, and she presented a United Nations Children's Fund award to singer Katy Perry, a backer of hers, in New York.
Hikers have seen Clinton walking in the woods near her Chappaqua, New York, home and she was once spotted at a bookstore in Rhode Island. A few days after the election she was seen coming and going from a staff party at her headquarters.
She has not appeared on any television programs and had sent out tweets on only three occasions since the day of her concession speech.

She had and has difficulty walking in any area without assistance and to walk in the woods, is very difficult for older people...
I live in the woods, and rocks, twigs, tree roots are all dangerous to us. Now if the path in the woods is cleared and cleaned up just for her and her little walks that might work, but I say the selfies are fake and phony...
The Secret Service guard the Clinton's like they are FORT KNOX. I never believe or trust a word out of her mouth..
She can fade into the sunset for as far as I'm concerned..but do cross my fingers that the DOJ and FBI INVESTIGATE THE CRIME FAMILY FOUNDATION.

Donations are down at the Foundation, and she probably owes money to her campaign fund. She can't afford the botox or make-up crew like before.
