Trump's administration: Veterans need not apply?
americanthinker.com ^ | 12/8/2016 | Tom Trinko

Some liberals are concerned that the veterans President Trump is appointing, or considering appointing, to key government positions will turn America into a dictatorship.

One author wrote:

Whatever the good intentions of the former officers who've been nominated, having a host of former generals in traditionally civilian positions would begin to erode principles of civil-military relations central to democracy, including civilian control and the political neutrality of the armed forces.

I am a Vietnam veteran. Can't remember when there was't a war on veterans. Promises! Promises! Since forever. Every politician since then has been fighting (and Losing) for veteran's rights.

As a matter of fact, it goes clear back to after WW1.

I wonder if I can get those Dade county dudes in charge of counting. Now they knew how to multiply the fishes and chads. Jill Stein was a piker by comparison.

The greatest of all Americans--first in both peace & war--was the leading General in the Revolution. His Farewell Address shows the most profound understanding of the role of any Administration: Farewell Address. I believe that it was once required reading in many grade schools--of course in a more rational and patriotic era.

Why is it that liberals hate the military and talk about fears of government militancy but when they are in charge that is exactly how they run government. Just look at the government agencies they have created and how they operate them. The left is totalitarian plain and simple. Just more projection from the leftists.

This is like when Clinton opened up the faculty teaching positions at West Point to non Vets.

What this actually meant was that they would only hire new faculty who were non Vets!

Typical LIB expression of their hatred for the military and for Veterans. Typical. Look at LIB history. They are losers.

It used to be common for men who served to be in government. This just shows the disdain the left has for the military, and how few know anyone who served.

When I lived near Minnecraponus, there were some moonbats who believed that anyone with any military background should not be allowed to participate in politics, including voting. Exceptions of course for the likes of John Murtha.
I do have one moonbat neighbor here in Houston who thinks that all veterans are war criminals. He’s a shrink at the VA hospital.

Any doctor with that belief should never be hired at a VA hospital, and if found out, should be released.

I’d send his name to the office of the president-elect.

Such a doctor certainly should not be working with the vulnerable.

I think the left has come to believe their own Hollywood caricature of military leaders as buffoonish martinets. I have the privilege of knowing three retired Admirals (through no accomplishment of my own, I never even served) and they are some of the finest men I have ever known.

***We veterans are all bat-shit crazy viet warmongers awaiting any chance we have to wreak havoc on society.***

Reminds me of a POST-war cartoon by Bill Mauldin (Willie and Joe).
Willie is home with his wife reading a newspaper. The headline IN SUPER BIG LETTERS is “SOLDIER SLAPS AUNT!”

Willie says to his wife...”Her is a story of a triple axe murder on page six. No GIs involved.”

Here’s a great idea. Since libs are afraid of too many veterans running our government, lets restart the draft and call up EVERYBODY for a 2 year stint in the service. Now everyone can be a veteran. Seems we had a better and more patriotic country before we stopped drafting.

Interestingly, liberals have never had much of a problem with Communist militaries. Many Communist dictators were military leaders, such as Mao Tse Tung, Joseph Broz Tito, and Fidel Castro. Leon Trotsky successfully commanded the Red army during the Russian Civil War. The Cubans were the Gurhkas of Soviet imperialism, serving in Angola and Mozambique. The East Germans maintained their former Prussian military tradition under Soviet auspices.
