Obama was hailed as the most smartests bestest person EVAH’ because he spent time with a transvestite Indonesian, showed up to lecture about the constitution once in a while, and won his elections by having sealed documents released. Obama had everything given to him, accomplished nothing, and achieved nothing.

Trump has a world wide business that has created billions of dollars and tens of thousands of jobs. He has created a media and entertainment industry millions of people enjoy. He runs real estate deals in countries all over the world. BUT, he’s the dummy.

President-elect Donald Trump might have broken with four decades of diplomatic protocol by speaking to Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen on Friday.

New ball game, sports fans. Trump doesn't give a crap about what "used to happen" or "the regular way of doing things". He is going to do things "his way", which hopefully will work out well. It certainly can't work worse than we have heretofore experienced.

It’s funny how liberal progressives are so shocked that four decades of protocol was broken.

I thought they are the ones for moving forward, always changing, always growing etc...

Oh yeah. And it was calculated.

Eat that ChiComs.

The pres of Taiwan called pres elect Trump-so what was Trump supposed to do-refuse to take the call and insult him? Put it on speaker for everyone in the room to hear? Liberals need to get in touch with reality-sometimes a phone call is just a phone call...

I think there have been more than a thousand articles on this one, brief courtesy phone call, in the past few days. These liberal media stooges are NUTS!

When did China amend the Constitution with their one-China policy?

How is it “calculated” when Trump was the RECIPIENT of a congratulatory telephone call?

Trump undoubtedly talked with the Taiwanese President in order to reset the boundary conditions of our relationship with Mainland China. Of course, it was intentional, regardless of the MSM-DNC reaction.

In other words, he will not bow down to foreign potentates like his predecessor.

I’m glad President Trump knows who our friends are versus our enemies. A far cry from Obama’s bumbling to bow to enemies and blow off our friends. Hmm, “bow”and “blow” is all Obama was experienced at.

This reminds me of what all the “experts” told us about Reagan’s handling of the Soviets. Then, when the Berlin wall came down, and the Evil Empire imploded; they tried to claim that was just a coincidence, rather than the result of brilliant moves by Reagan.

I’m expecting great things from Trump’s foreign policy. (Of course, the results will all just be “coincidences”)

The new president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen, is featured in this popular Trump Youtube video. (So is the newly defeated presidential candidate from Austria):

Trump has business dealings with mainland China, including hosting the US headquarters of their bank. They may squawk a bit about the Taiwan phone call, but no damage whatsoever has been done.

Once again, she called him. Not sure how Trump could plan that. What was he supposed to do? Refuse the congratulatory call?

Remember when Trump said he liked to be unpredictable? This is a very good start, and John Bolton understands this as well, heck, he may have put Trump up to it or Trump asked al the SOS candidates to give him something unpredictable to do, who knows. But it was good.

“Some critics portrayed the move as the thoughtless blundering of a foreign policy novice, but other experts say it appears more calculated, planned in advance to signal a new, robust approach to relations with China.”

Who are those “critics?”

I expect the Trump team will be dusting off the history of the 1985 “Plaza Accord” which dealt with Japan currency, devaluing US Dollar by about 50% versus Yen.

Does anyone here remember that at one time, 7 of the 10 largest banks were Japanese?

Same deal as today with China, which has been actively making their currency (Yuan Renminbi) cheaper since 2013, killing American jobs . . . JUST LIKE TRUMP HAS BEEN SAYING.

The primary leverage to get Japan to go along was implied threat of tariffs. YES, you so-called conservative IDIOTS(like Mark Levin), REAGAN USED this threat. Does anyone doubt he would have followed through if the Japanese refused to comply?

The effect of the Accord crashed the Nippon stock market by 75% starting in 1989, and led to a deep and lengthy recession in Japan.

Too bad. Same has to happen in China which, as Trump has been saying, has been ripping American blind.
