This was a brilliant move. Trump hit China on one of its great vulnerabilities without ever even hinting military action. Now the Chinese have to figure out how to respond, possibly with a concession we need, like on the military islands they’re building in the South China Sea. Trump’s a master bargainer, and he’s already bargaining for the U.S.
If Hillary had spoken with Taiwan it would be indicative of her great diplomatic skill honed during her glorious stint as secretary of state.
Fake news. Nothing more.
Where oh where was all their concern when Obama, Hillary, Kerry, and company were making friends with our enemies, making our friends mad, and generally trashing foreign policy?
good move for DJT to have spoken with the President of ROC!
WashPost is so far OUT of it with its leftist prejudices...its gonna have a heart attack in the next few months (tee hee hee)!
The way the MSM and the ‘elites’ report the news reminds me of the apocryphal story of a series of 10 races between an American car, and one built in the USSR.
The American car won eight races and the Soviet car won two races. The Soviet press reported that the Soviet car twice finished first and finished second in the other eight races. They also reported that the American car twice finished last and finished second last, the other eight times. Of course the number of cars in the race was not mentioned. This is now how the MSM reports on DJT.
To Trump, diplomacy doesn’t mean bowing to tyrants or allowing them to dictate terms - they can deal like adults or stomp their slippers all they want.
Sounds more like the press is inflamed, and the Chinese are nervous.
Obama to push ahead on Taiwan frigate sales despite Chinese anger 14 Dec 2015
Sooooooo, has anyone in the press considered the possibility that maybe, just maybe, Trump intended to tweak China by taking this call?

On Friday, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton called on China to adopt a tougher stance against Tehran and took the unusual move of publicly warning Beijing of significant trouble if Iran's nuclear ambitions were not reined in. China has opposed slapping additional sanctions on Tehran.

U.S. and Chinese officials have also clashed recently over trade and investment issues, which for years constituted the bright side of their relationship. On Thursday, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said U.S. companies face too many "headaches" in China and could lose interest if Beijing backslides on openness and the rule of law.

More problems could arise after a possible meeting between President Obama and the Dalai Lama, when the Tibetan spiritual leader visits the United States in February. China says the Dalai Lama is a separatist who wants to lead Tibet to independence.

Over the past month, at least six senior Chinese officials have warned the Obama administration not to sell the weapons to Taiwan, and some have raised the possibility that China might sanction the companies involved.
So, Trump taking a phone call is going to do more harm than these idiots??????
