The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began operating 46 years ago after former President Richard Nixon proposed it as a way to address mounting pollution concerns across the country.
EPA celebrated its 46th anniversary Friday, just weeks before President-elect Donald Trump likely takes the agency in a totally different direction compared to the last eight years under President Barack Obama, focusing on clean air and quality instead of global warming.
Not only is Trump looking to roll back Obama-era regulations, the incoming administration reportedly has plans to fundamentally reform major decades-old environmental laws: The Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
No doubt, Trump will work to repeal the waters of the United States rule and the Clean Power Plan rule for power plants. But his handlers suggested the new administration would work with Congress to pursue major legislative changes to stop regulatory overreach.

Abolish the EPA now!!!
Well, that would be a starting point.

Delete Big Farming/Government Corn while you’re at it. No more ethanol fuels for Motor vehicles.
Make it go back to what it was before it was created.
I’m old enough to remember when my elders were saying don’t create an EPA, it will turn into a monster.
Trump was for that early on, though I’d like to see him perform a brutally honest energy audit on the process.
Is it burning as much foreign oil as it saves? Abstaining as much as possible from Islamic sourced oil, at least, may be wise — if it actually HAPPENS by virtue of the ethanol fuel push. I want an audit, and a national discussion about the results, before any precipitous action. This corn isn’t edible without special processing. You’d choke on it if you tried to eat it on the cob. But it brews nicely.
I mean Trump was for farming ethanol corn.
Consider that creating this monster did *nothing* to protect President Nixon from the media coup that was Watergate.
In the same sense that there is revolution and antirevolution, I hope and trust Trump performs an Antifundamental Transformation of political discourse.
Phased out within the year and all funds sent to the states as one-time block grants, based roughly on population. Then just never fund the operation again.
EPA serves no gainful purpose for the Federal government, it is a slush fund for distribution of government largesse.
Or maybe this was the Democrats crying “Gimme the monster.”
No more agricultural subsidies to not grow or to grow crops of any sort.
Let farmers and agriculture giants make their decisions based on demand and supply.
Kick the lobbyists out and stop picking favorites based on politics.
Let the marketplace rule!
To start with, plans for the 47th anniversary celebration are cancelled.
Lots of these bloated agencies gonna see huge changes....
I give a Hoot, but I still pollute.
Just by breathing, according to some LefTards!
