WASHINGTON The Obama administration declared its support Thursday for requiring women to register for the military draft, a symbolic but significant shift that reflects the U.S. military's evolution from a male-dominated force to one seeking to incorporate women at all levels.
President Barack Obama has been considering whether to adopt the position since last December, when Defense Secretary Ash Carter ordered the military to open all jobs to women, including the most arduous combat posts. Ned Price, a spokesman for the White House's National Security Council, said Obama believes women have "proven their mettle," including in Afghanistan and Iraq.
"As old barriers for military service are being removed, the administration supports -- as a logical next step -- women registering for the Selective Service," Price said, using the formal name for the military draft.

I have a feeling they should have started this push a bit earlier. Not thinking it is going to be implemented.
3...2...1...”Not my daughter!”
war on women. Now all these college girls who voted for Clinton .
How do you feel now?
Two thoughts, not necessarily consistent:
1) They believe the Fem bullshit that women and men are identical, except for genitalia which can be changed thru modern surgical and hormonal techniques, so it is a new benefit and glass-ceiling breaker conferred on women,
2) The more people registered, the more people that can be tracked. Even if you’re female, if you’re over 18, your in the SSA database!
I am not sure if this is going to be a major point of concern for the new administration. lol.
More pressing things to worry about than a gender neutral war machine.
Send this to everyone in PA, WI, and MI that you know. This was going to be a H3llary thing, too.
Our daughters and granddaughters dodged a bullet here. They could have been eye to eye, fighting ISIS jihadis.
If Obama can do this via Executive Order, please sign it before 2017-01-20.
But, I don't think it can be done without legislation, and I doubt that Republicans will pass it.
Don't get me wrong: I believe women can serve in the military, and are just as capable as men for most roles.. But, if it comes down to compulsory service, I think it would be a mistake to draft women.
Maybe I'm being chauvinist, but I don't want to see my daughter forced to enlist.
Liberals want our daughters to come home in body bags.
Let’s hear it for equality!
sure , why not ? Scare the snotty little s#its
Sounds like a democrat War On Women.
Obama and his band of clueless idiots have 49½ days to run amok before Trump President throws them out of office and throws all of their stupidity down the toilet.
They have no idea about this even though Hillary is for it.
Everything passed in Washington gets some kind of name: “Sarbanne-Oxley”, “Affordable Care Act”, etc.
This bill should be named “Democrat War on Women” bill and they should vote on that.
It’s always Democrats who want this AND the Draft...oh, and most wars.
NDAA Female Draft Provision Removed
http://concernedwomen.org/ndaa-female-draft-provision-removed/
Thanks.
As of Tuesday evening, the final conference report for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has dropped the provision forcing women to register for the draft. Instead, there will be a study reviewing the Selective Service. Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America, had this to say:
Concerned Women for America recognized the significance and consequences of this drastic change in longstanding military policy. We immediately activated our grassroots and built a coalition to protect Americas daughters and ensure military readiness. I am grateful the NDAA conferees put Americas national security above the push for social engineering.
In the age of political correctness, it is refreshing to see our nations leaders prioritize the interests of Americans, instead of caving to political pressure. Our members were instrumental in this victory. Their efforts to educate their senators and members of Congress highlighted the concerns of people across the country.
I want to personally applaud Chairman Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) and Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska) for their leadership and moral courage to stand up to political correctness for the sake of our safety.
I also want to thank the organizations and members who partnered with us in this significant victory.
We have our hands tied. The dingbat is ruining our win.
I’ve made the point below numerous times in the past:
As the law currently stands, any male wishing to avoid military service if drafted could try to do so simply by claiming he “identified” as female.
If the government recognizes his claim, then a convenient method for dodging the draft legally is available to any male who wants to use it.
If the government fails to recognize that claim, than any private organization that refuses to provide so-called “transgender” accommodations can site government policy as a legal precedent.
Once women are subject to the draft the progressives who come up with this crap no longer have to deal with that dilemna.
Why, so in the event of war the United States becomes more depopulated than France after WW1?
This is treason is what this is.
