It wasn’t an apology, but former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney appears to be embracing President-elect Donald Trump in a stunning turnaround from his days as a prominent leader of the Never Trump movement.

After joining Trump for dinner at Jean-Georges restaurant in New York City, Romney made a lengthy statement to the press pool of reporters, remarking that he had a “wonderful evening” visiting with the president-elect.

“These discussions I’ve had with him have been enlightening, and interesting, and engaging. I’ve enjoyed them very, very much,” he said.

He expressed hope for America under the leadership of Donald Trump, confidently telling reporters that the country’s best days were ahead.

“All of those things combined give me increasing hope that President-elect Trump is the very man who can lead us to that better future,” he said.

He might useful in draining the swamp at State

**************

I’m not convinced he can do that. Mitt might get a sudden case of Stockholm syndrome if you know what I mean.

My conjecture.

Potus/SoS combo needs to be good buy bad guy to the world. We know Trump will be the bad guy.

Trump obviously has some type of disdain for patronage. He will simply pick the best SoS he can that can help him move the line forward.

So even the most fervent of his supporters, aren’t given cart blanc to choose their cabinet positions. This is why we might end up with Romney as SoS — providing Trump can believe that he’s going to present Trumps ideas and not Romney’s or the Globunists.

Trump needs a pit bull AG who has an FBI director willing to work closely together to set our laws straight and in force.
So Rudy may want SoS all day long, but it’s clear he’s top contender for AG and may not even be a consideration for SoS.

I am not sure Rudy is going to get a significant gig. He is quite capable IN THE PAST of AG or SOS. There is some concern about his physical and mental health in some circles. It may just be talk. Of course, he may be fit as a fiddle. We don’t know.

Then there is getting him approved through Congress.

——”None of them should ever serve...”-—
Deep in my soul I know what you are saying. Those RINOs have been enemies ever since Mitt’s daddy destroyed Goldwater! Not only that but they have caused the defeat of the most meaningful legislative acts we have tried to pass since Reagan!

...but...(sigh).. they aren’t going away. They must be managed. They should be used where they cannot hurt, or even taught and CONVERTED if possible. It’s worth a try. Can’t you live with it?

When Reagan picked Richard Schweiker as his running mate in 1976 I was stunned and shocked. “How could you?” But after that Schweiker turned around. He learned from the gipper and came to love him. He later served on Reagans cabinet and nobody minded at all.

This is a REAGANESQUE decision on Trump’s part. He is doing the same thing for the same reasons. It will work again.

Anyway, I feel your fire, sipow. That thing burning in your chest is your love for your country. God love you, I’m with you!

I so despise Mitt Romney I voted libertarian that year.

He should have no part in anything.

I guess Trump knows exactly what he is doing. Romney is such a two headed snake, he will fit with a deceitful bunch of Muzzies or Mormons any time.

Absolutely pathetic.

As if further demonstration of the fact that Romney has no soul or core principles was needed.

If Trump has this “Chump” anywhere in his Administration I will consider Trumps pledges lies, he is already teetering on it, by hiring Goldman losers and other Rino’s it “appears drain the swamp” is already dead. So far his picks are less than great, very unimpressive. Of course I’ll take heat for saying this, but I can face the truth a lot easier than most. Trump gave us the impression that he was going to change things, so far he’s embracing the same types of chumps that screwed us over time and time again ...

Romney has spoken well of Trump before -- like in 2012 when he got Trump's endorsement for his doomed presidential campaign.

Romney thanks Trump for endorsement.

Romney is a miserable, lying sleazebag who will say anything at all that serves his interests at the time.

As the above video show, he doesn't have an ounce of integrity.

‘I wish Donald would talk him into being the City Manager of Detroit, just to make a clear example of how competent leadership works in managing major cities.’

Romney was a disaster at managing the state of MA. He let the Dems grow the massively bloated bureaucracy even bigger, and paid for it by making the cost of doing business in the state even higher and more prohibitive

There is no way he can be as bad as the mayors they currently have.
