Renowned CNN foreign correspondent 'worried' by current climate for journalists in U.S.
CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour suggests Donald Trump's words about the media worry her "very much."
One of the world's best known foreign correspondents told CBC's The Investigators that her "blood ran cold" when Donald Trump tweeted out that those who were protesting in the streets after his election win had been "incited by the media."
Amanpour says several statements made in recent months by the U.S. president-elect in which he has variously described journalists as "despicable and dishonest," "crooked" and "liars" can be the beginning of a dangerous political narrative.
Earlier this week, Trump held meetings with several high-profile U.S. journalists, including some of Amanpour's CNN colleagues. The gathering with TV network executives and anchors at Trump Tower in Manhattan was later reported to be a dressing-down by the president-elect for what he considered their unfair treatment of him during the election campaign.
Of course, she’s smirking. I still remember seeing that photo in the magazine section of the Times and my hair practically standing up on end.
Oh and just as an aside, Christiane is not aging well. Too many cookies, I surmise, to paraphrase Marlene Dietrich in Touch of Evil.
You’re part of the problem. You have your job for two reasons: female, your last name sounds arab.
D*mn. She really does celebrate the deadly fires in the twin towers!
Favorite Item in the Apartment: A massive painting that I got in Iran, a few years ago, by Farideh Lashai, a friend who is also Irans pre-eminent abstract-expressionist painter. It gives me joy every time I walk in my door.
The artist, Farideh Lashai, was an Iranian painter who died in 2013. From Wikipedia: She was born in Rasht, Iran. She was also a writer and translator. She is renowned for her abstract contemporary paintings, which are a combination of traditional and contemporary views of nature.
I guessing her blood runs green as well as cold.
Christiane Amanpour (formerly of CNN, now ABC), which included photos of her home. Recognize the oversized picture that dominates her favorite room? She says its her favorite item in the apartment, because It gives me joy every time I walk in my door.Heres a clue: like Amanpour, the painting comes from Iran.
Thanks for reposting with the painting photo.
And mentioning she is of British and Iranian parents.
What an evil and smug woman! Nasty for sure!
When a journalist makes themselves the news the are no longer a journalist and it is not news
I believe Christiane did say it was supposed to be giant carrots, lol.
Corrupt drama queens of the MSM... and they wonder why Americans don’t trust them?
a true, a professional journalist would look inward and begin to find ways to turn American journalism from a propaganda arm of the left into one of truth, no matter who it helps or hurts.
You should have considered that long before the media went full on crazy leftist fascist for Hillary.
Andrew Breitbart understood that the way to take down the Democrats, is to completely destroy the media. The GOP establishment has never made any attempt to do this. That’s because establishment politicians actually benefit from having the media portray hardcore conservatives as nutcases. It helps them win primaries against more conservative candidates. But I believe Steve Bannon knows that he now has a unique opportunity to make Breitbart’s dream of destroying the media come true. And that will be one of his top priorities.
No?
My thoughts also. If her blood is running cols she probably needs to go sit on a hot rock for a bit like the other reptiles do.
Notice how the emotional journalist amanpour only detested what Trump head to say about the media’s evil.
Notice her omission? She didn’t deny the media is evil.
She just hates that people are finally calling the media out on it’s evil.
snakes are cold blooded
She’s cold blooded baby. Look into her eyes. She’s been telling lies.
