You will hear some people today excuse Fidel Castros crimes by begging that he accomplished social goals. Canadas Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn have already beclowned themselves on that front. They were merely the first.
Our own President Barack Obama opted for washing his hands, choosing to neither praise Castro after his death Friday, nor to condemn the tragedy his communist dictatorship has inflicted on the Cuban people for 57 years. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him, said Obama playing Pilate.
No social accomplishment, to be sure, could justify keeping an entire people hostage, denying them the right to elect their own leaders or exercise any human rights for half a century. But there werent any accomplishments.
On the contrary, Castro destroyed a thriving society and imposed penury, either out of Marxist dogma or out of resentment that his out-of-wedlock birth had left him with a stigma among Cubas middle classes.

In his later years, George Plimpton revealed some of the darker things he'd seen in his career, including what happened while he was in Cuba interviewing Hemingway in the early Castro days ---
Theres something you should see, Hemingway told Plimpton while preparing a shaker of drinks for the outing
.they got in the car with a few others and drove some way out of town. They got out, set up chairs and took out the drinks, as if they were going to watch the sunset.
Soon, a truck arrived. This, explained George, was what theyd been waiting for. It came, as Hemingway knew the same time each day. It stopped and some men with guns got out of it. In the back were a couple of dozen others who were tied up. Prisoners.
The men with guns hustled the others out of the back of the truck, and lined them up.FUEGO!!! Then they shot them. They put the bodies back into the truck.

I drove by the Pentagon today and U.S. flags were at half staff. Please tell me Obama didn’t order this to pay his respects to Castro. Is there some other reason?
Someone called into Steve Malzburg’s radio show on WMAL earlier this afternoon about the flags at half staff. They were hoping it’s for the soldier we lost in Syria this week and not Castro.
Armed deplorables, that is.
;^)
The left loves totalitarian dictators who give “free” healthcare.
It takes a commie to praise fellow comrade like Castro! Castro’s death now gives some of these commies an opportunity to show their true colors (or color: red).
Not appalling - EXPECTED!

Canada’s Prime Minkster, JustIN Fluedough, Canada’s Commie Village Idiot, is praising the ba$tard.
Have Bernie Sanders and his supporters expressed their sorrow yet?
Yes, increasingly so in my twitter feed.
That figures. I did see one post along the lines of “If you praise Castro you have no business criticizing Trump” which was refreshing.
