For college students especially, American Thanksgiving might be one of the best holidays of the year. Free food and childhood nostalgia can easily eclipse its dirty origin story. In truth, Thanksgiving has racist roots that are widely ignored by the American public. The glorification of colonialism and stereotyping of Native Americans should make anyone, regardless of race, pause and consider the cultural racism that has been a part of our childhood socialization.

For centuries, if not millenia, cultures/societies all over Europe, Asia and Central and South America over ran their neighbors, replacing the customs, religions of the conquered areas etc. I’ve never heard that any of those dominant cultures felt any guilt at all.
Slimes operate that way to this day - no guilt, remorse etc. and they are nearly always a more primitive culture than those they seek to destroy.
But in America that’s all different. It’s different because - until now - Americans, the most tolerant people on the planet, have put up with this cr*p.
State legislatures, parents, alums, donors - we must defund these indoctrination centers everywhere we can. They are already the institutions that time has passed by - they just don’t know it yet.
The lightbulb is racist! Invented by a white man.
Celebrated literary historian Nathaniel Philbrick's book Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War (A Pulitzer finalist for History, in fact) describes by evidence of written recollection of the first Thanksgiving harvest festival between the Puritan pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe who relied on one another for mutual protection in the early years of the Plymouth colony.
Moreover, the Pilgrim's declaration of a new Thanksgiving spiritual harvest holiday in the Plymouth colony was chosen to coincide closely with the ancient Jewish Biblical holiday of Sukkot, "The Feast of Booths", first mentioned in Shemos (Exodus 34:22) as a feast of ingathering at year's end. The religious Puritans of the Plymouth colony looked to their bibles for an appropriate festival to celebrate their own successful Fall harvest festival and found Sukkot, which they emulated.
Like the Jewish customs in Sukkot, the Pilgrims held the first Thanksgiving outside of their lodgings in a decorative Sukkah booth and invited the friendly indians of the Wampanoag through the English-speaking interpreter Tisquantum ('Squanto') to join them in celebration and prayer.
The seemingly fanciful story a lot of us learned in grade school about Squanto teaching the Pilgrims to cultivate corn, squash, and beans and the indians sitting down with the Pilgrims for the first Thanksgiving celebration is factually correct. Don't let people tell you differently.
Moreover, Tisquantum/'Squanto' could speak English, Spanish, and could pray in Latin in the rites of the Catholic mass -- all skills he learned in captivity living abroad in Malaga Spain with Franciscan friars (who bought his freedom from captivity) and his several years in London England as a shipbuilder before he finally returned home to find his original tribe had been eradicated due to disease and slave-taking.
Hearing word through Wampanoag tribal chief Massasoit of the new English colony at Plymouth, Squanto just walked up to the Plymouth colony one day and started communicating in English with the Pilgrims who were utterly amazed by his language skills and his story. He served as an interpreter and peacemaker between the Wampanoag and the Pilgrims which fostered a 50 year peaceful alliance between them until the contentious tribes of the Massachusetts region became embroiled in war between with one another in 'King Philip's War', the hostilities begun by hothead indian war chief Metacom (a never-do-well son of Massasoit) who slaughtered several indians after they had converted to Christianity and lived amongst the Pilgrims.
Tell it to John Hancock!
I will not acknowledge racism in Thanksgiving - but - I do think there may be a bit of sexism.
It is common knowledge that Thanksgiving turkeys are all Tom Turkeys, gobble, gobble, gobble. / s
Michael Savage used to say that liberalism was a mental disorder. He is, of course, correct. These people go through life in a permanent state of depression. They never laugh or have any sense of humor.
No wonder they are rioting. Noting better for them to do.
Keep on mouthin’ Idiot

Well said!
Sure, a year after the Americans see a series of two hour specials broadcast on all networks multiple times laying out the racist roots of the Democrat Fascist Party.
Agreed. They love to go after those not prepared for their over-the-top assaults.
Think of it as a liberal's version of "the knockout game."
Thanksgiving
In November 1621, after the Pilgrims' first corn harvest proved successful, Governor William Bradford organized a celebratory feast and invited a group of the fledgling colony's Native American allies, including the Wampanoag chief Massasoit. Now remembered as American's 'first Thanksgiving'...although the Pilgrims themselves may not have used the term at the time...the festival lasted for three days.

Amen!
Any time someone says I “must” do something, I usually do the opposite, just on principle.
The “REAL THANKSGIVING” was and still is a Celebration of the End of Communism in the United States, see William Bradford Diaries.
Conservatives need to state loudly and often that the Left HATES AMERICA. They will deny it, but if you listen to them they hate everything about it, from the discovery of the continent on. They hate Columbus, they hate the pilgrims, the founding fathers, the Constitution, the pioneers, westward expansion, etc. They believe that everything was the motivated by greed, racism, genocide, and white supremacy. The evidence is overwhelming. That is the message should use to beat them.
Not sure if the author understands the meaning of colonialism. If colonialism were a good thing, Americans would still be subjects of the British Queen.
Poor girl. Kathryne can't even spell her name correctly.
Agreed!
The best way to expose ignorance is to shine a light on it. Only by allowing their speech can one appreciate the depth of ignorance involved.
Everything is racist now. The funny thing is these idiots have no idea how they are hurting their “cause”
Note to author:
Could you PLEASE TRY to find a pair of brain cells you can rub together & then shut your mouth???
YOU were NOT there when the first ‘Thanksgiving’ occurred & the Pilgrims & Indians fed each other after a short & not so productive summer & harvest that probably would not get the Pilgrims & possibly the Indians thru the winter.
EVEN IF this is total fabrication-—YOU do not have a single bit of evidence to support your claim that this is a racist holiday.
I am damn sick & tired of every move someone makes -large or small being called RACIST!!! Come & say it to my face & see what happens to you.
Where in that empty cavity you call a head on your shoulders did you manage to find this is a racist Holiday???
