For college students especially, American Thanksgiving might be one of the best holidays of the year. Free food and childhood nostalgia can easily eclipse its dirty origin story. In truth, Thanksgiving has racist roots that are widely ignored by the American public. The glorification of colonialism and stereotyping of Native Americans should make anyone, regardless of race, pause and consider the cultural racism that has been a part of our childhood socialization.

Make leftists work all week this week, or hit their vacation bank. Sorry, losers.
Speaking of that, apparently 7 million men are not working. Most likely because of colleges like Tulane.

These colleges and universities make them feel that they’re above doing real work.
Because Native Americans had a paradise of harmony and peaceful coexistence going before those nasty Europeans descended on them. “Control by one power over another nation” — never happened until those light-skinned devils invented it.
I'll second that. (along with Iron Mike)
I view colonialism as an inevitable, and ultimately a good thing.
When advanced and/or more moral civilizations come into contact with more primitive or retrograde ones, the latter will always naturally adapt. Like high pressure flowing into to a vacuum.
The idea that the bushmen of the Kalahari or the native Hawaiians (who hadn’t even mastered making pottery) would continue to exist on their own, in isolation, like some museum piece, in an ever-shrinking world, is just fantasy and nonsense.
Frankly, I no longer give a tinker's damn, and there are millions more of the same opinion.
I’m getting tired of this s#it
LOL - I think I’ve seen one episode of the Chappelle show and it was that episode.
I as well.
Why? You need a safe space?
Almost as pathetic as the stupid American hating liberal who write the article.
There are none so blind as those who will NOT SEE!
Acknowledge that, or just shut the hell up, about Thanksgiving or anything else.
Please, just give it a rest already. Just. Stop.
That is the myth. In reality George III was a decent and humane man — not a cartoon tyrant.
I wonder why it is that I never read about the “native americans” killing all of the caucasions that lived here before them?
FY!
I’ve asked you and asked you to not post photos of my family reunion here on Free Republic.
I put the declaration on the a powerpoint slide for Church on Sunday. . .
(excerpt). . . . .It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November as a day of Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father Who dwelleth in the heavens.

These loony libs need to do some research regarding Days of Thanksgiving in America http://www.americanminute.com/index.php?date=11-24
IMHO William Federer should be on Mr. Trump’s “go to for advice” list.
