I view colonialism as an inevitable, and ultimately a good thing.
When advanced and/or more moral civilizations come into contact with more primitive or retrograde ones, the latter will always naturally adapt. Like high pressure flowing into to a vacuum.
The idea that the bushmen of the Kalahari or the native Hawaiians (who hadn’t even mastered making pottery) would continue to exist on their own, in isolation, like some museum piece, in an ever-shrinking world, is just fantasy and nonsense.
Not sure if the author understands the meaning of colonialism. If colonialism were a good thing, Americans would still be subjects of the British Queen.
