Since @Twitter is now in the #censorship business, I will no longer use its service for my constitutional right to free speech. #GoodbyeAll
But Woods' point is still made. Twitter has and continues to be engaged in censorship on the basis of political content. Be it in the form of deleting tweets, "shadow banning" or in the case of Milo, lifetime exile.
There is a blatant liberal bias at Twitter. The company could not afford such behavior. It's on shaky financial footing as it is. Users have been leaving for awhile. Going all in for Hillary was the most insanely stupid act that any private business could do and much more a social media one. Now there is competition from Gab.
James Woods has a strong following on Twitter. His departure will not go unnoticed.
Twitter will not survive for long without DRASTIC reassessment of its practices and ethics.
Facebook would do well to do the same. There is no reason to assume it is invulnerable.
"Twitter has now sadly abdicated its position as a sole beacon of free speech. Voltaire's famous dictum has been quietly buried by these left wing savages."
Twitter should have it’s IP revoked so that there is competition.
Facebook is just as bad. Trolling is horrendous there. Have deleted my account and have signed onto GAB.AI.

Once trust is lost, it can never be fully regained, period. As for online portals like that, i have no need to let everyone in the world know that I just farted.
Although, for a person who understands how to effectively use it, like Trump, it is a superb way to go around the usual filters of the dinosaur media. For the so-called purveyors of the news, they are and will ever be in the denial their usefulness has come and gone.
Trump is a major twitter user. Imagine if he announced that he would also use gab. That would bring many people over to that platform
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. -- Voltaire
The commie left continues to out itself and lose subscribers.
Hooray.
I never used the service.
“I never used the service.”
I have not, either, but I sure do recognize how valuable it was in Trump’s win. For that reason, I appreciate it! I hope some freedom-loving entrepreneur will provide an alternative that will be equally popular.
For now, that is correct.
But what prevents the feds from telling Twitter that it has become an essential vehicle for rapid communication in the modern world and must allow all viewpoints?
Example: shopping malls must allow distribution of literature on their premises, even if management disagrees with the content of that literature.
Twitter can claim private ownership, but unless they have a way of restricting their data to privately owned sections of the internet they use enough public resources to bring them into a regulatory scheme.
It only requires a justice department willing to fight for it. Do you think Bannon is going to allow Twitter to take away one of the pillars of his success?
Think about this -- could a phone company that prevented conversations about conservative topics withstand any kind of government scrutiny?
Saw that yesterday. Hope he moves to gab.ai.
I have a question about FB. How do their algorithms decide what is posted to me? It seems heavy on trivia.....cats jumping through hoops, etc.
I will do likewise and will also shut down my facefart account.
Gab.ai is exploding. I tried to sign up and only got to waiting list number 190,000 This will be great.
I signed up for gab and it only took a few days to get in.
That is the good news. The bad news is that I am new to the stuff and had to watch the instruction video several times!
It took a couple of weeks for me to get in.
Welcome to GAB James. Where you can #SpeakFreely.
So that’s what an ‘Opus’ looks like on Twitter.
