The Justice Department reached a settlement this week with the Denver Sheriff Department, after they allegedly discriminated against work-authorized immigrants by only considering the applications of U.S. citizens.
The Denver Sheriff Department discriminated based on citizenship status by requiring applicants for deputy sheriff positions to be U.S. citizens and publishing job postings with U.S. citizenship requirements, in violation of the INA (Immigration and Nationality Act), a statement from the DOJ reads. INA prohibits employers from limiting jobs to U.S. citizens (except where they are required to do so by law).

Citizenship? We don't need no stinkin' citizenship!

Yes, they can change laws to suit them, so can we.
At any one time there are 15 million green card holders in the US. We take in 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants every year. They are all issued green cards. After five years, they can apply for naturalization. 20% of the legal permanent immigrants we bring in annually lack even a high school diploma. The vast majority of green card holders are not professionals.

Yep!
Uhm..... how do they complete an I-9 or pass e-verifying, both federal government requirements.
That article in The New American is rather shocking.
Won’t it be nice, for a change, to have people in charge of the country who aren’t enemies of it?
Congratulations Denver Sheriff Department... don’t let the tyrants bully you into doing the wrong thing.
This sounds like total bs to me. When I was hired by the US Border Patrol in 1984 it was a requirement to be a US citizen and at that time the BP was part of the DOJ. The INA currently being cited was enacted in 1952. If the existing law says you can’t limit employment to US citizens, how did an agency under DOJ control get away with it?
Yeah...that's the best idea.... Call the magic negroid and tell him to hold his breath until he gets the money....
Laws are for the little people.................
Hold off on paying the fines for at least 61 days. LOL.
They are here legally. They have green cards or work permits.
Sheesh! Next we’ll be hearing the Border Patrol is not hiring enough illegals to guard the border.
Jan 20 can’t get here fast enough.
Challenge the fines in court and the case will not be heard until next year.
Next thing we know, the new applicants won’t even have to speak English. I think its time for anyone who is connected with the DOJ needs to be screened to see if they have all their faculties before even being consider. Don’t have to be a citizen? That ruling is pure stupid, why not someone from ISIS then?.
Placing non-citizens in positions of authority is utterly unacceptable. The DOJ is behaving as enemies of the people.
OMG!! They are supposed to hire ILLEGALS??
deputies enforce american law.
illegals break american law.
how can illegals police actual citizens. absurd.
all these govt folks at doj should lose their jobs and pensions.
