This incident shows the difference between Pence and Trump.

Both realize that this was an attempt to play to the media and embarrass Pence.

Trump told the truth and said that it was disgraceful and demanded an apology.

Pence chose to shrug it off and try to diffuse the situation.

It remains to be seen which approach will work better. Is is better to ignore the deliberate and dishonest attacks and or is it better to immediately refute them?

Pence is a good guy.

Interesting the Hamilton cast said to respect “diversity” while... hiring only ‘non-white’ cast.

Both are correct. Pense chose to criticize by questioning softly whether it was the right venue (it is not). Trump used his bully pulpit to condemn the poor behavior (which it is). Trump was playing the long game of calling out an immature opposition. Pense, who was there and got booed, indicated he was not offended (our side does not get offended) placing himself above the childish behavior.

Maybe a little of both approaches. Look where ignoring the diatribes got Bush43. Sometimes ignoring it is appropriate, but there are times when the fools need to be told about themselves.

I personally don’t think Trump should get involved with trivial incidents like this, or something that was said on Saturday Night Live. My personal opinion is that Pence handled it correctly. Having said that, when it comes to dealing with NEWS outlets and Democrats in the House and Senate. I’m all for calling them out in no uncertain terms. But TV shows and musicians. Beneath his office. I think.

He might not have been offended, but lecturing somebody in the audience is improper.

The Pentz method sounds TOO MUCH like the old, failed G. W. Bush method. Either you hang your head and let them eat your lunch; or you DON’T. We are indescribably lucky to have Trump at the top.

The personification of magnanimity.

(note to self: look up "magnanimity" to make sure it means what you think it means)

I was offended as an American who voted for him.

Wasn’t it the people in the audience that booed?
No need to blame the cast for that, but no need for them to preach to pence from the stage either.

Well, one can’t be offended by crazy people’s actions. That doesn’t mean crazy people are OK LOL!

Any other response would treat the offenders as worthy of consideration (which is what Trump wanted- to publicize the people he ran against).

So, different roles in the same path.

Pence gives a good answer here.

He will be an excellent POTUS if the need ever arises.

I like Trump’s approach. It’s the only way to get these a holes to listen and cut the sh%%. We’ve been rolling over and taking the high road far too long. Time to fight back. Being the bullies they are, they’ll back off.

Ha haaaa! I love it that CNN is reporting on what Pence said on FOX News Sunday.

Say, CNN, is that all he said? Was he only on the show for 5 seconds? Care to report on what else he said? No? Figured as much.

Pence made the appropriate comment about both “it not offending him,” and also “whether it was the right venue or not” BUT should have added a comment or two about the leftist mentality typically views everything as a political event. i.e.) remind Americans of the constant culture war of the left.

I found this obnoxious and no different than when Colin Kaepernick treats his captive audience to his national anthem kneel. Pence should back up his boss.

It remains to be seen which approach will work better.

We know which one works better. The Pence response is what every establishment Republican would say. And they never win. They get rolled.

The Trump response is what we want to hear.
