Vice President-elect Mike Pence said the boos he faced at the Broadway production of "Hamilton" were "what freedom sounds like."
Pence also didn't criticize the show's cast for addressing him from the stage after the play's end Friday night, saying he wasn't offended and understood their message.
"I did hear what was said from the stage. I can tell you I wasn't offended by what was said. I will leave to others whether that was the appropriate venue to say it," he said on "Fox News Sunday."

I like Trump’s approach. It’s the only way to get these a holes to listen and cut the sh%%. We’ve been rolling over and taking the high road far too long. Time to fight back. Being the bullies they are, they’ll back off.
Expect more of it. His SoS will be a pibull straining to be let of the leash.
I'll give him a pass on this one because he was defending someone else.
Say, CNN, is that all he said? Was he only on the show for 5 seconds? Care to report on what else he said? No? Figured as much.
Pence made the appropriate comment about both “it not offending him,” and also “whether it was the right venue or not” BUT should have added a comment or two about the leftist mentality typically views everything as a political event. i.e.) remind Americans of the constant culture war of the left.
I found this obnoxious and no different than when Colin Kaepernick treats his captive audience to his national anthem kneel. Pence should back up his boss.
Pence has class, and his reaction makes the treatment he received even more egregious. It makes him look even more admirable and approachable. One might even say that the Snowflakes at HAMILTON unintentionally did Pence a favor.
Trump is the correct approach. If you don’t like been $hit on...kick them I’n the as$.
He’s doing it right.
Let their words stand on their own. They sound like petulant, scared children, which is what they are.
They aren’t going to get their way, and that we can celebrate.
Other than that, this little tantrum is completely unimportant.
“The last time Hamilton made fun of a sitting VP”
That is exactly what I found so ironic about all this. My how times have changed.
Pence
Grownups don’t get offended.
Speaking of Laura Ingraham, are the liberals still miffed that she allegedly did a Nazi salute at the Republican convention????
There was a conversation on FR last night that was started by someone who is a fan of the show. The subject came up about having actors play people of another race than their own. When it comes to historical plays or films, I think one should adhere to history and try to cast soemone who looks more or less like the actual character, or use enought makeup and mannerisms to suggest the actual character. For example, We all know what Ben Franklin looked like, so it would be absurd to depict him as anything other than an old guy with long hair that is thinning on top.
I can be flexible about multiracial casting if the play or film is not historical. So, I would not have trouble with a multiracial Shakespeare play as long as the play is not a history play. An exception sould be where the characters' races are an important part of the plot.
Personally, I think the producers of "Hamilton" wanted mult-racial (non-white) actors because they felt that "white guys can't rap". "Diversity" to libs always means "less white".
Careful. Someone may get their eye put out.
The difference being that Bush 43 wouldn’t open his mouth. Pence responded, and did so making clear that he is VP of “all” the people and that the venue was not proper (by faint praise).
I know, but they will learn how to start trolling him if he is going to react to every little thing like this. This is something his press secretary should be handling. He's got enough on his plate to get done in 4 years just to start to undo the damage from Obama. Wasting one second commenting on something like this makes me cringe too. I just lowers him to their level. IMHO.
Trump should have just said something like, "My Vice President can handle this, he has raised 3 children."
