The US vice-president elect, Mike Pence, was booed by a theater audience when he attended the hit hip-hop musical Hamilton in New York on Friday night – and then had a message about protecting diversity delivered to him from the stage after the curtain call.
On Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump accused theatre-goers of having “harassed” Pence, writing on Twitter: “Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing.This should not happen!”
He also demanded an apology: “The Theater must always be a safe and special place.The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”

It’s not thin skinned to want to be safe in public places.
These people are breaking our social agreements as to behavior.
Only when phones go off in the audience. The late Richard Griffiths was horrible at that. Al Pacino was brilliant at it - he’d insist on the taking the phone from the offender and then answer the call! “Can you call back later? I’m Al Pacino and I’m in the middle of a scene.” I was in the audience when Ronald Reagan went to see Will Roger’s Follies. Act-Up started screaming at him in the middle of the 2nd act and Keith Carradine lectured them on their bad behavior. He got a great round of applause.
Apparently what the theatre people hate about Pence is his belief in conversion therapy. While I love Pence, I will agree with them (not on their disgusting display) on that one issue.
Sexual attraction is not something you can stop in your head. What turns a person on is not their conscious doing. And you can’t pray or psych that away.
Of course you can stop acting on it, as all people who are pedophiles should do. If I were a pedophile I would take hormones that would stop my sex drive completely because even fantasizing about harming children is abhorrent. (Except for the fantasizing of what I will do to her if my kid doesn’t learn where to leave her shoes... is that ok? Lol)
I don’t know exactly what Pence believes about gay conversion but I don’t think it works. It probably replaces the attraction with prayer. Maybe that is what happens with nuns and priests, not that I have any knowledge of such things.
That is so funny about Pacino.
Dick Morris once answered his phone in the middle of a speech. He said something like, “Hi, honey. I’m still talking.”
The dancers that do go for the appreciation in spite of the effort, ought to be accommodated in this way. I was thinking that as Miss Marm suggests, some might be too tired to, and there would be a way of handling that situation graciously.

I disagree. You can look at the stats to show how once homosexuality became more accepted, the numbers of younger people reporting they are attracted to the same sex has gone up dramatically. That’s how you know it isn’t a trait that a certain number of people are just born with.
I don’t fully understand how fetishes work, but there is no way someone who is attracted to leather or whatever was “born” that way. Some aspects of sexuality are learned behaviors, like Pavlov’s dog. I’m sure every individual is different. But I’m certain that therapy or the right actions can change the sexual orientation of many people if they are willing to change. Just like a smoker or an alcoholic, if you want to quit, you can figure out how to do it, even though it might not be easy. I would expect though that the person would need a sexual partner to work with. I don’t think it could be achieved strictly by talking or all in one’s head.
I’ll go out on a limb and say YEEHAW... I didn’t know Pence believed this... he’s 1000% right.
Some folks call it a therapy, but it’s far more accurately characterized as a spiritual study.
The core of such perversion is hate, and a paradoxical being enamored of it. It’s said it’s easier in the case of lesbians, but I am a guy and I only can speak about guy stuff. If I were to groove on poking my pole into some other guy’s posterior... and I asked anybody sane, would I be fair to call that, “LOVE”?

Standard Christian theology is the map out of this predicament. It’s nothing esoteric, nothing that it took Sigmund Freud to smoke opium to realize.
Will you embrace Christ? Will you believe in what He will begin to show you, a new kind of love which in fact is a very old kind, but you had been shutting out of your soul for decades? That’s what is needed, and the bible bears us witness to it.
I think they are exhilarated after a performance. But either way, surrogates should not appear in their place. That’s not in tune with the purpose of the fans being there.

I understand what you’re saying and, as I said, part of me LIKES Trump’s reaction. However, I don’t want to see him tweeting responses to every leftist idiot for the next four years - he has far, far better things to do. On the other hand... I don’t want him to sit back like George W. Bush and never respond to the constant barrage of lies from the media, either. Maybe a nice compromise would be for Trump to back off on the tweets, and put a press spokesman in there who’s willing to confront these twits on a daily basis.
Those poor dancers... of course the optimum is where they do it for the joy of it, and they don’t CARE if they are tired, so long as they aren’t falling over on the floor....

The VP-Elect had reason to worry that that crowd would rush him and kick him in the head.

Actually, the number of people with homosexual orientations growing has been seen in other species especially with pollution or other new chemical interferences into their populations. In my opinion, the acceptance has come due to the sheer numbers and not the other way around.
I agree, fetishes come from imprinting and brain damage such as autism. You can’t be born craving 4 inch high heels to have sex with. Check out little autistic kids who crave spinning wheels or rolling a certain ball. The need for a certain object or mechanical movement. It’s definitely a warp in the brain.
One thing the LGBT community got right was that they all belong together lumped into in the LGBT because the sexual orientations and gender identities are interwoven and must come from a prenatal epigenetic defect.
Well, either that, or the queer child-molesters got to them, just like it’s always been.
I know there are cases where imprinting has happened, it seems, from a boy being molested and growing up to desire other males for sex.
However, I have some experience with SNAP and many male victims of abuse during their childhood or youth by adult men are perfectly heterosexual, though they might still have issues because someone ruined them when they were so young. But they are not gay, and they do want to be with women.
I’m not saying all, or even most abused boys have had have their sexual preference irretrievably altered. But MOST fags (like 80%) have an “Uncle Ernie” story or something similar.
Most also need a shrink to go through life. Probably the same is true for many of the adult abuse victims you cited.
