The US vice-president elect, Mike Pence, was booed by a theater audience when he attended the hit hip-hop musical Hamilton in New York on Friday night – and then had a message about protecting diversity delivered to him from the stage after the curtain call.
On Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump accused theatre-goers of having “harassed” Pence, writing on Twitter: “Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing.This should not happen!”
He also demanded an apology: “The Theater must always be a safe and special place.The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if we got a Trump Theatre out of this? With DECENT stuff?

I completely agree. If this was a one time event, it could be overlooked. But this type of activism is rude, ill-informed, and has become a way of life and it is time it stops. Who wants to pay money to be insulted with innuendo and who wants to be part of an audience that humiliates? Let the people decide if Mike Pence deserved this kind of intrusion on his personal time.
Back in 2012, I saw the Broadway production of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.
In the audience was DONALD TRUMP! Everyone was taking photos! We were in the nosebleed gallery looking down and saw everyone was in awe. No one booed or anything else. Everyone was respectful of him. Meanwhile the cameras everywhere were flashing...
What a difference today.
That is what is so stupid about the left. The actors need tremendous numbers of people to fill the theatres every night & matinee. Yet they alienate at least 50% of the potential audiences across the country by politicizing the performance. Like Shoes.com who thought they were being smart to drop Ivanka Trump’s shoe line. Not so smart but life will teach them.

In a previous post in this thread, someone tried to get tickets and Sept/Oct Orch were $850. So.. this may be ‘off season’ rates. Just sayin.
I dunno, comes across as whining, even if he is essentially correct.
There was a beautiful production of The King and I at Lincoln Center earlier in the year. I always look for Bartlett Sher productions. I just bought tickets to The Nutcracker - I’m assuming I won’t be lectured by the generally mute cast!
And considering that this was a tweet, this looks like the right balance. Donald gave them a quick scolding (not at all like the prolonged scolding the cast gave Mike Pence) and has gone on to better things now.
Several FReepers watched the HBO special with comedian George Lopez performing in San Antonio, TX a few years ago. We couldn’t wait to get on to post about him laughing at illegals wiping the butts with the produce they pick for gringos. Yeah, real funny how quickly he was banned in my house. Don’t know if other angry FRiends did the same. Can’t imagine having him sling that at ticket holders.

I don’t think he is thin skinned when he does this stuff. He is exposing hate and hypocrisy IMO.
It might be a clever “whine” put in the lefty terms. The lefties now either have to uphold it, or repudiate it. They are in a double bind now, and due to their dishonesty.
What’s next, are they going to boo Ivanka when she takes the children to the Nutcracker?
Back in July when the original star, good ole whatzisname, made his last performance, tickets were going for up to $20K. Tix for a popular broadway show go well into the hundreds. A crappy show will fetch >$100, absent discounted tix.
If they don’t want to pick for gringos, they can always go home... they want their tacos and to eat them too.
They don’t know you are a freeper, unless you happen to sneak that into your verses.

Interesting. I wonder if Pence knew this before he went. It looks like he was set up to get this lecture from the elites.
