Gun stocks have plunged since the election of Donald Trump. What happened? Trump was endorsed by the National Rifle Association and was the clear favorite of white, rural, gun-loving America. But the stock prices for Sturm, Ruger (RGR) and Smith & Wesson (SWHC) have both dropped by more than 20% since Trump won. The problem is that gun lovers are losing their biggest boogeyman: Hillary Clinton, who would have continued President Barack Obama's pursuit of gun control legislation. She was so reviled by the industry that Ruger CEO Michael Fifer described her in August as "actively campaigning against the lawful commerce in arms." Nothing like the EPA and the likes selling the millions of rounds they amassed to make the price of ammo go back to normal. Expecting cnn lamenting that one too with women and children hit the hardest.

Seems to me firearm manufacturers should be relieved. Sure had the bitch been elected they would have sold every “assault rifle” they could put on the shelf. The stock crashes and the companies go bankrupt soon after the Clinton court nightmare becomes a reality. They should be thankful for a boring but profitable stable long term market.

Got you skinned a mile and all of mine for this year are C&R eligible. Obama panic was replaced by Hillary panic (glad that’s over!). Stuff I wanted from years back only now I can afford them (I’m retired). The ol’ ticker could give out any day but at least my safe(s) are full.
Guns are a unique kind of wealth. Give thanks for each day & enjoy, because in Heaven there is no beer.
Good luck in your future acquisitions. The classics aren’t as expensive as they used to be if you factor in inflation and the effect of on line gun purchase sites has lowered prices through competition.
