You are right. Rinse will get fired if he screws up.
Priebus knows Wash D.C., and actually is a good pick to interact with the D.C. insiders. As you say, Trump can keep a close eye on him.
What I noticed, is that in Trump's acceptance speech immediately after the election results crowned him President-elect, is that Priebus looked very nervous as Trump invited Priebus on stage and Trump thanked him for his efforts. I think there was probably some kind of deal brokered between them for mutual support and Priebus was nervous about how Trump could be so gracious. Just goes to show us that Trump is an astute manager, tapping his enemies potential for getting things done.
Bannon or Kellyanne Conway should replace Priebus . Both have shown that they understand the voters and can mount a winning campaign... spread their talents among all the GOP elections.
He is probably the best choice Trump could have made.
Considering how many people Trump has hired and fired in private business-I’m pretty sure he knows what he is doing-and if he decides it was not the best choice-we certainly know he has no problem saying “you’re fired”...
You don’t win WI and get Johnson re-elected without Reince. Also, he killed off the attempted coup at the convention.
Trump knows what he is doing. Trust him. He’s shown he can make changes when he needs to.
Heard on the WSJ Report that they made 26 million phone calls for Trump. Sounds like a good effort to me.
1. a presidential candidate who was being openly repudiated by many prominent Republicans;
2. a presidential campaign strategy in some long-term "blue" states that must have seemed outlandish to any political insider; and
3. a Senate map where the GOP had 24 of the 34 seats up for election.
YOu can google re: Kasich and Christie and lots of coverage.
Kasich has reported the nature of the offer—essentially that he’d get to be chief of staff. Reportedly his kids and advisors told Trump he had plane trouble and had to stay overnight so he’d get enough time with Pence before announcing his initial choice of Christie.
Priebus is a bit of a weenie. The Chief of Staff needs to be a hard-nosed SOB at times. Newt Gingrich could carry that off. I’m not sure that Priebus can.
From Politico? I wouldn’t believe any appointment until it comes from the the Trump staff.
Where does this person fit into the Trump world?
Graduated from VA Tech, MA from Georgetown and MBA with honors from Harvard. Served in the navy as a surface warfare officer.
Then went to wall street as an investment banker in mergers and acquisition in the media area. Since Goldman Sachs has been in film making.
You tell me?
Yes, Bannon could be a bit of a lightning rod for clutchers of pearls.
Hope they don’t use Politico as THE place to float trial balloons and authorized leaks....They are a cesspool. He needs to balance between courting old media and developing new media; so that new media can compete with the old one now and in the future.
Preibus will be as powerful as President Trump allows him to be. Look for Bannon to still have a major roll in helping to shape the agenda. Press coverage will be positive on this choice.
Priebus told the establishment to go pound sand when they wanted Trump’s head early in the process.. especially when they wanted to screw Trump over at the convention with the delegates.. Priebus would have nothing to do with it.. and the loyalty to Trump afterwards told Trump what he was about
Bannon did good work out of the limelight. Don’t need to here all the Alt-Right nonsense they will throw at him if he’s more public. He’s got a big job to do, lol, like watching Paul Ryan who he hates.
Did it ever occur to you that some of these NeverTrumpers LIE? I just investigated the claim that Trump offered anything to Kasich. Trump said he didn’t.
So given a choice, you believe NeverTrump Kasich and call Trump a liar?
