Former Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis says his party must do everything in its power to abolish the Electoral College.
Hillary won this election, and when all the votes are all counted, by what will likely be more than a million votes, he wrote of the Democratic presidential nominee in an email to Politico Sunday.
ADVERTISEMENT So how come she isnt going to the White House in January? the 1988 Democratic standard-bearer asked. "Because of an anachronistic Electoral College system that should have been abolished 150 years ago.
That should be at the top of the Democratic priority list while we wait to see what a Trump administration has in store for us. So far, all we know is that dozens of lobbyists are all over the Trump transition -- a strange way to drain the swamp.

NEVER!
The brilliance of the founders is always under assault by the left.
The natural born citizen clause, if adhered to, would have spared us the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
The tank commander speaks and no one gives a chit
Yup, the last time my home state of California went red. It was Reagan Country back then. Now the place is nuts. It’s the only state this election where Trump performed worse than McCain and Romney.
Amen, and Thank God for the wisdom of our Founding Fathers.
Yup...
NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
Um, no. It’s not going to happen.
I suppose he can take comfort; it’s not as bad, as the blue bunny Kerry.
Thankfully, "everything in the democrat parties power" at the moment is very, very little....
So tired of the popular vote winner not winning the election. Clearly Clinton was robbed by Obama in 2008.
Yea, that’s pretty bad. How long is Kerry staying in the Antarctic?
From where I sit, his party has precious little power right now. Hallelujah!
Good luck with that buddy!
There is no way 3/4th of the states will ratify that amendment.
Voter fraud is heavily concentrated in a few already-deeply-blue states. The electoral college system minimizes the effectiveness of that fraud, since it is predominantly in states that are electoral college blue anyway.
The democrats HATE that the effectiveness of massive voter fraud is minimized.
No surprise there.
Was he wearing his Army helmet when he said this?
Fair enough here's how it's done: a bill calling for the elimination (or modification) of the Electoral College must be passed by two-thirds of both the (US) House and (US) Senate...THEN the bill must be approved the legislatures of THIRTY EIGHT states.
Good luck with that,Rat Party.
Who is to say Trump didn’t win the popular vote?
Absentee ballots generally are not counted if the margin of difference is greater, or close to, the difference in results.
Absentee ballots, I am told usually break Republican quite heavily.
In California alone, I believe there where something like 1.2 million absentee ballots
Do the math.
Why should a bunch of people living in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and other cities decide how a person living in the suburbs should live, or how farmers in Iowa should live, or how ranchers in Montana should live, etc.? Urban dwellers already have way too much say in our culture and laws.
