U.S. EPA employees were in tears. Worried Energy Department staffers were offered counseling. Some federal employees were so depressed, they took time off. Others might retire early.
And some employees are in downright panic mode in the aftermath of Donald Trump's victory.
"People are upset. Some people took the day off because they were depressed," said John O'Grady, president of American Federation of Government Employees Council 238, a union that represents thousands of EPA employees. After Election Day, "people were crying," added O'Grady, who works in EPA's Region 5 office in Chicago. "They were recommending that people take sick leave and go home."

100%, fire them ALL!
Hi, my name is Dan and I too am a schadenfreude addict.
I loved your post and I am proud of you.
The shoe is getting put on the other foot now isn’t it?
How do you like it?
Not good eh?
About half are parasites. The other half may be salvageable.
Downsize the Federal Government now!!! I just had lunch with a friend a few minutes ago. She worked as a contractor in Washington DC as a computer specialist back in the 80’s.
She was astonished, frustrated and disheartened by what she saw (way back then) with the inefficiency and waste that characterizes our Federal Government.
She has referred to this many times over the course of several years. As a hard working independent female herself, she was floored by what she encountered and it still lingers with her to this day.
They are mentally unstable. No guns for official purposes should be given to lunatics.
Thank you for letting me, and all the other veterans who work for the Federal, state, or local government, know how you really feel about us.
We have any number of departments and agencies which do nothing but lay regulations on the citizens of this country and for which there is NO authorization in Article 1, Section 8 for the FEDERAL government having those departments and agencies. Those departments and agencies need to be shuttered by the end of fiscal year 2017.
It’s another beautiful morning, FRiend. Trump won only 5 days ago and every day is a little brighter....actually MUCH brighter.
America is on the road to recovery and around each bend there is more beauty and excitement. After 8 long, disgusting and painful years, we have reason to be hopeful and happy again.
I am very excited at this new year. I am almost done with remodeling our old house and because Trump won, I will soon order my new dream car. Happy, happy, happy. ;>)
I don’t know where all our travels will take us in the time I have left, but if we make it to Texas, I would love to meet up and simply shake your hand.
It’s another beautiful morning......
They can’t handle real jobs, they are parasites.
Why are there “thousands” of EPA employees?
Yep. I’ve got a pep in my step, a glide in my slide, and I can’t wipe this stupid grin off my face to save my life :-)
Life for real Americans is about to improve by orders of magnitude.
Stop on by, if you’re ever down Dallas way. I’d be proud to shake your hand, fellow Deplorable.
This Is TOO Funny My Friend!
Actually there were big reorganization under Clinton (Reeinventing government) and under Obama to get rid of all the old folks who knew what they were doing and then replace them with liberals and minorities who didn’t
You are welcome. I should have said the great majority. Semper Fi.
“QUICK!!! The SNOWFLAKES are MELTING!!”.
Don’t say that! They will claim it’s because of globull warming.
The DoE may become redundant toward the end of this coming year. If we still need fusion for spaceflight, Dr. John Slough probably has that covered for NASA.
