San Francisco got too expensive.
The hippies and other silly people have been moving out for many years. They can’t afford the rent (they are gradually aging out in rent-controlled apartments). New/young lefties cant find apartments here unless they have a high paying job, and that sort certainly wont risk that by rioting. So Portland has become the hippie city.
More or less the same with gays also; SF is much less gay than formerly, though the economic driver isnt quite as effective as gay people are more likely to find good jobs. The crazier sort is being driven out.
The biggest effect of high rent is on blacks. Nearly the only ones left are in public housing and SF doesnt have very much of that.
They are the “Portland Riots” until the city grows a pair and decides to rule against anarchy. Period.
Things are peachy in my neighborhood.

Oh yea at ever riot there is someone, usually a female giving a speech as to why Trump should be re-elected in 2020. Really FReepers you should hear them talk it’s so interesting. They really want him back in office that bad. Crowds of people stand around and listen, then disperse up and down the streets shouting “vote Trump 2020”. It’s just crazy!~~

Oregon football this year SUCKS, so why not riot. What else is there to do in Portland. ? Its a depressing city in Portland anyway . Gives them something to live for. Gotta throw a dog a bone once in a while. Ignore them and they will tire and go home when they get hungry, back to their moms basement.

Yes. If you notice, many of the "protestors" are masked. That means they have criminal intent, IMO.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit. When I watch the riot videos I keep remembering Alinksky's 1st rule:
* RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)
what this tells me is that for their schemes to work they have to convince their enemy of the lie / deception that they are trying to perpetrate. In other words, the Oz Effect, of appearing to be much more powerful than you are. We need to keep this in mind when dealing with these degenerates.
Real classy protesters with the “Rape Melania” sign there. Trump might want to rig up a few fire hoses on the building for that one. It might acually make it fun to deal with protesters. I’d aim at the guy who put up the sign and give him a new part in his hair...;)
