The epic nature of Hillary’s collapse: Defeated by arrogance, hubris and gall

Most devastating electoral defeats in United States history at least had some mitigating circumstances. In 1984, Walter Mondale got blown out by Ronald Reagan, a popular incumbent President presiding over an improving economy. Barry Goldwater lost the 1964 election by a large margin, but his opponent was another incumbent President with extensive resources to marshal.

Hillary Clinton’s stunning collapse is different. It’s hard to think of a historical analog that could come close to resembling the magnitude and depth of the failure. She had a popular incumbent President campaigning for her furiously; the popular First Lady did likewise. The economy is far healthier than it was eight or even four years ago.

Trump’s win among Catholics and evangelicals - despite his obvious foibles (all pols have them, but his are less camouflaged) - shows that the Spirit works in mysterious ways.

God is always there for us. His message has been the same since He took human form. Sometimes we listen. Maybe we are listening now. But we have to keep our ears open.

I've never believed the polls about Obama's popularity.
They are a fiction. Just as fictional as the government
unemployment statistics and government claims that illegals
are not voting in American elections.

I see the map of Wisonsin that you post.

One thing that struck me all of a sudden, like an OMG moment, on election night is how the northwest Wisconsin border with Minnesota looks like a left profile of Donald Trump looking upwards.

Also, I have since long-ago believed that the eastern Idaho border with Montana looks like a profile of President Richard Nixon.

Maybe. But Trump would have altered his campaign if Sanders were her running mate. He would have improvised and adapted to the different circumstances, and perhaps he still would have prevailed.
