Why I finally canceled my New York Times subscription

By John Crudele

October 12, 2016 | 10:23pm

The other day, I canceled my subscription to the New York Times. The paper’s circulation department says I’ve been getting it delivered to my home for 10 years, but I think it has been much longer.

[snip]

This last example is perhaps the most egregious. Another leaked email from Palmieri on July 8, 2015, is a discussion with John Podesta, the Clinton campaign chairman, and others about a Times story on the costs of some of Hillary’s policies.

Palmieri writes: “I wanted to give you an update on NYT pending story on the costs of policy proposals . . . I had a pretty frank conversation with them about what an unfair story would do as a further setback in the relationship.” I assume that means relations between Hillary and the Times.

“Maggie thinks it is responsible and that we are not going to have a problem with it ? it will have all the caveats that HRC [Hillary Clinton] has not actually proposed these policies . . . She [Maggie, I assume] is going to read me the story later today off the record to further assure me.”

I assume “Maggie” is Maggie Haberman, who ? with another reporter ? two days later published a 1,500-word story on Page 19 of the paper with the headline “Clinton Aims an Ambitious Economic Agenda at a Party Shifting Left.” Anyway, that’s why I canceled my Times subscription.

If you feel the same way, you can dial the Times at 800-698-4637. They’ll offer you a deal to stay. I told them all I wanted was honest coverage.

Jennifer, Maggie, and Hillary. Girl power rocks. Trying so hard to prove that women can be as corrupt as men. LOL

The ironic thing is that a vast majority of Americans have never even seen a NY Times.

I’ve got news for you, women can and often are much more corrupt than men. Ever heard “Nothing more powerful than a woman’s scorn”? They take their scorn to “extreme” when they want.

Don’t forget there always will be a place for the NYT, as it makes good cover for the bottom of your birdcage.

The mistake was to subscribe to the Slimes in the first place. One of their agents actually called me years ago and tried to get me to subscribe. I said “not interested” and hung up. Amazingly they called back and asked me why. “Too liberal” I added and then hung up again.

Who starts a newspaper subscription in 2006? I can’t believe anyone started one after 1994.

In the article, the guys says really Hillary wasn’t that bad...
The Times must be losing subscribers in droves so I am telling my acquaintances that still buy their drivel that they each need to buy TWO yearly subscriptions to make sure they can pay their propagandists well! Otherwise, socialism in America may dwindle!

While there are still school libraries that have some subscription to the NY Times....I would make a guess (at least in my home state of Alabama), that it’s less than one-percent who’ve read one single edition of it. In the whole state...there might be 500 folks today who get a daily copy of it....most being college professors and multi-million types.

When I worked in DC (2010-2013 period), I probably up one copy a month when it had some write-up on the front page that interested me. Beyond that....I think it’s mostly trashed itself up enough, that there’s no profit left to be made. Whoever owns it....is pumping cash in quarterly to keep it afloat. Same with WaPo, Time and NewsWeak.

The only US paper that I generally recommend is the Wall Street Journal. I like the Daily Mail and Telegraph out of England.

NR is another worthless rag that needs to go out of business.

We pay actual mo eye to have the LA Times delivered to the house. My mother with Alzheimer’s wants to sit and read the paper in the morning. She will read the same story a few times and comment on it anew. The front page is basically a pack of lies. but out of honor for her and to make her feel good with breakfast and a paper, we still purchase the lying rag.

The thing with mainstream media is, quite obviously, that they are fully propagandizing or they are the gospel. If you are intelligent and on the right, clearly, they are spreading actual lies. But supposed smart people on the left NEED TO BELIEVE THEY ARE GOSPEL which makes me wonder if any on the left are smart enough to discern reality.

We know they are often quite educated, but that is not the same thing. Universities are hotbeds of liberalism, so spending four or more years at one seems to liberalize people. I remember at university the bumper stickers, “Question Authority.” I agree that’s a good slogan. It’s the slogan of my religion as well, to question and query the Almighty. So? When they have the left in power, there is only abject knob slobbering from the left. Question ALL authority.

(We didn’t question George bush enough. Hoping we Trump Train Passengers don’t fall for that again no matter who end up our leaders.)

A little late to have that epiphany - I canceled my local subscription many years ago when McClatchy bought it out and the "Sound Off" page where subscribers could write in started omitting the conservative views. Started going on-line and on 9-11 I discovered FR and it is my main source of all the news these days. My hat's off to all those who post so many articles as I have only posted a handful with the very occasional vanity over the years.

God Bless FR and JimRob! Never give up and eventually good things happen. Now the trick is to keep our side energized and I believe Trump and Pence will manage that ever elusive trick.

DRAIN THE SWAMP AND MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!
