108,600 Votes Swing 46 Electoral College Votes to Donald Trump
Breitbart ^ | 11 Nov 2016 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 11/12/2016 5:23:41 AM PST by cpforlife.org

Forty-six of the electoral college votes President-elect Donald Trump won on his way to a resounding 306 to 232 electoral college victory over Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton came from three states where his combined margin of victory was only 108,600 votes.

No major media outlet has yet called Michigan for Trump, but a spokesperson for the Michigan Secretary of State’s office told Breitbart News on Thursday “there’s no reason to believe there will be large numbers of votes that will be found subsequent to the current reporting.”

Clinton’s inattention on the campaign trail to these three “Rust Belt” states cost her dearly.

As The Week, points out, Hillary Clinton failed to visit Wisconsin, even once, after April.

It could have been even worse for the Clinton campaign. Trump, who only visited Minnesota once during the last month of the campaign (an overflow rally held Sunday at the Minneapolis airport), almost won that traditionally liberal state’s 10 electoral college votes as well.

Trump won Pennsylvania, with its 20 electoral college votes, by 68,236 votes, Wisconsin, with its 10 electoral college votes, by 27,257 votes, and Michigan, with its 16 electoral college votes, by 13,107 votes.

Had those 108,600 votes gone to Hillary Clinton, she would have won the presidency with a a 278 to 260 electoral college victory over Trump. (Though New Hampshire, with its 4 electoral college votes has not yet been called, Clinton holds a 1,614 vote margin there–0.2 percent of votes cast in the state– with 100 percent of precincts reporting.)

Clinton won the popular vote by 0.2 percent, or about 200,000 votes out of a total of 120 million total votes cast.

A key shift of less than 0.1 percent of those votes–108,600–would have given us President-elect Clinton instead of President-elect Trump.

That’s a depressing map. Even californians dislike the population centers in cali. I lived in the valley till ‘06 and the vast majority of my friends were conservative. We all hated the fact that bills that got passed were decided on in LA, and we all loathed LA.

This non voting population remains an untapped source. We kept hearing about the so called monster vote. Never really happened. At least not nationally.

538 had a paper back in the summer were they stated they looked for signs of a substantial increase in registrations by non voters. There was little sign of this, and they were right.

I do believe that the exception to the former to some extent did happen in the battleground states, particularly PA. I always believed that Trump had a great chance of winning PA. Winning every PA county in the still contested primary along with 100,000 or so voters switching to Republican to vote in the primary was meaningful.

“should change the electoral college from winning most votes in a state to winning most votes by county.”

Sounds like a truly great idea.

IMO will require Article V Convention of States as per Mark Levin’s Liberty Amendments.

“vote their conscience’

A completely bogus concept, according to tradition and common sense. Voters, in fact, voted for the CANDIDATE, not the electors or the electors’ conscience.

The Left has suddenly forgotten about “every vote counts.” According to their new understanding, no vote counts.

“108,600 votes.” Wrong. The mail in ballots aren’t counted if their number won’t change the result.

“No major media outlet has yet called Michigan no reason to believe there will be large numbers of votes that will be found subsequent to the current reporting.” Found votes? Found as in the trunk of someone’s car or another misplaced Box 13? It’s not only Michigan but NH that hasn’t been called. There is no reason for a legitimate count to take this long.

No. There is no evidence at all that spendibg made a difference. The tape cost Trump NH, possibly MN. This cycle, I don’t tbink we could get CO, NM, NV. But next time.

Vote totals in NM show that Gary Johnson got 9% of the vote. If he wasn't running, Trump would have won the state. (BTW, one neighbor lady voted for Hillary, another out-of-work oil worker voted for Johnson. Aw, diversity!)

Article 5 convention is closer than than people realize. We already have the governors. We are close in congress, we will have the Supreme Court which means it’s in the Senates hands.

Trump does a good job we can have at least 60 in 2018. However I would push the narrative of voter ID and when the rats fight back propose the county electorate law. Takes their entire argument about disenfranchising voters off the table as well as promotes 1 man 1 vote which is easily monitored at the local level.

It could be turnout was higher in the swing states he won and easy red states while turnout was less in the states Clinton won. I thought we would crack 60% EVT and high turnout would actually be a good thing for republicans for once.

I am not sure if the lower turnout is good or bad or what it means for the future, considering the demographics of the US.

Did anyone (freepers, redditors, project veritas) get video of this?

This is the reason why they should change the electoral college from winning most votes in a state to winning most votes by county. This eliminates voter fraud that disenfranchises as any fraud would be limited to the county its committed in. It is then up to the county or local level to deal with the fraud. It also prevents a single county from deciding who wins the state.

That's a really interesting idea. It will never happen but you are correct about the impact on illegal voting. It would make it much more difficult.

All of this is statistically improbable. Far more likely is that the Democrats got an early read from their local insiders on what the Republican vote total was going to be, then tried to manufacture enough last minute votes to steal any county that was close. They didn't get enough this time - but their attempt explains the razor closeness of so many state races far more logically than the idea that the American public is somehow "evenly divided."

The 325 million number includes non-citizens. It even includes illegals if they don’t refuse to be counted. Another website had an estimate of 7% of the population are non-citizens so that drops 23 million from your count.

Excellent graphic. MY son-in-law is going on about the popular vote. We live in one of the non-blue counties in Kansas that would have no say if not for the electoral college. Every election is a civics lesson. Maybe this will will penetrate his hard head.

On election day, buses were observed crossing from Mexico and heading straight to polling booths. This was the culmination of years of making it more convenient for illegals to vote. In this election, the results were ...

Video proof of that? How about Border Patrol checking entry permits, etc.? Without video, I call BS. However, I completely believe that the Rat-Soros collaboration got together to register illegals, likely through money or future promises.

I think the States decide how to allocate. I don't think it would take a CoS to do it, unless it was to be forced nation-wide.

Friend, I’m sick of a lot these days. LOL

We are in a bloodless civil war. The libs are a cancerous plague on our Republic. This thread and others like it are, IMO, an evaluation of how we need to proceed and adjust for the battles ahead.

Yes, we should all take a breath and be thankful to God that we were spared. But we must also be mindful of His admonition regarding eternal vigilance.

Could be. Would be interesting to take a look at the Dem states he flipped to see.

I recall the Republican Florida chair saying the morning of the election that he thought they were in good shape unless turnout election day was huge, in which case it would be very close. Thought this was odd since it was the reverse of what I thought needed to happen.
