Given that said funds are for the purpose of welfare, the Feds are right to insist that they go to the welfare of American citizens and legal residents.

Trump should send those cities a bill and it be retro-active for each year they ignored the law and catered to the invaders.

You would read this whole thing and ask....what exactly can you make for some contingency plan....other than some quick-to-tax scheme or some challenge to the Supreme Court which will be loaded when they meet in January and get Trump’s new judge.
One might sit there and ask how to invent more taxes, and the logical answer is that you go after the rich or the big-name companies of SF. If you were a CEO making a million a year and living in SF....you might want to prepare for a shock, or prepare to move out of the city. Business operations? To be handed a new tax bill?
All it’ll do is make people question how this mess started in the first place and why the city has to stumble so badly.

Nowhere in the article do they mention the most rational action, which is to knock off the sanctuary city declaration. The status actually doesn’t have much effect on the operation of immigration enforcement, that’s coming from Obama’s various holds.
Deporting convicted criminals can be done without help from the city, as can immigration raids, catching visa holdovers, and they can work around a city refusal to honor immigration holds. So it really comes down to willingly accepting a cut back in city services to support a position that has little practical use. This comes, mind you, at the point where cities are about to be hit with huge bills from the state’s underfunded pension system. Mostly what sticking with the policy would get them is a bunch of p.o’d taxpayers, and some political challengers who will be given an incumbent-created constituency.
SF gets ONE BILLION every year from the Feds? 10% of their total budget! Unbelievable.
Why does any city get a single cent of our federal tax dollars?
Trump should up the ante and work with Congress to end ALL federal largesse to cities. Period.
